The mets got all of their minor leagers in this year from everyone being hurt. Omar is a smart guy, he'll figure something out.

Saturday is my birth day, and yesterday was my dad's, so we are celebrating them by having a golf weekend in SC. So you don't need to be worried about me not playing.

I think he might be 14 now I think about it.

He does need a quick kick in the head though, more focused on four legged animals instead of the two legged with dual protruding mountains

Hell, im almost 37 and I'm just growing into big boy clubs

He needs to stay away from the two and four legged critters and concentrate on making money on the golf course. His old man has to be easy pickings out there for him.

Yeah, but once he has seen the mountains, he will start shooting north of 80 regularly for a while.

This is debatable.
When in charge of the Expos (which was a screwed up situation) he traded Grady Sizemore, Brandon Phillips and Cliff Lee for Bartolo Colon.
He also traded Jason Bay for Lou Collier.
Then there was Javier Vasquez for Nick Johnson, Juan Rivera and Randy Choate.
Cliff Floyd for Sun-Woo Kim and Seung Song.
Orlando Cabrara for Brendan Harris and Alex Gonzalez.
As a Met GM he has made a few marginally good deals
Getting Lo Duca for bit players was ok. The Delgado trade was a salary dump by the Marlins but was ok. Getting John Maine for Kris Benson was very good. As was getting El Duque for Julio.
But there was the three week period in 06 when he basically gave away heath Bell, Matt Lindstrom and Brian Bannister.

And he did sign Luis Castillo to a high dollar contract.

So I would tend to be a little pessimistic on his doing something positive

Need all kinds of pitching and the farm team in depleted. Mets fans could be looking at some hard times for the next couple of years.

I agree. What i meant to say was he is smart enough to get something done. You forgot about the Perez- Nady trade, that one turned out great. And the whole Kazmir thing. But he isn't the worst. Getting rid of Nolan Ryan is right up there.

I wouldnt classify obtaining Oliver Perez as a positive. I think rocket scientist Steve Phillips made the Kazmir trade. I still maintain he thought he was trading for CARLOS Zambrano and just called the wrong team.
The ironic thing about the Nolan Ryan trade was that the Mets also sent three other players with NR for Jim Fregosi. Honestly he may have never become the Nolan Ryan that we know now if he hadnt been traded to California. The Mets were very cautious with him during his 19 year old to 24 year old seasons. His first three seasons with CA were anything but cautious as he put up 284/326/ and 332 innings despite still being wild enough to walk 523 batters. I know about the blisters and all but that was an amazing three year run of power pitching that we will never see again
