Just watched a replay of the race back. Lloyd obviously very rank all the way to the second turn, fought CC that whole way, must have taken quite a bit out of the tank.
The track was insanely inside speed biased with a golden rail, most winners went wire to wire and those that didn't came up the rail in the stretch. Hopefully we get a fair track next time out and he settles better than today, we should get a much better result. Great time hanging out with Dave, Michelle, JD and the crew today, look forward to the next run! Also, a big thanks to Steve and Gary, really appreciate Gary dealing with all us today! I, for one, really appreciate the whole experience of race day! It was a blast today despite the result, can't wait to fight another day! Last edited by pointman : 02-20-2010 at 08:37 PM. |

Just got home to Saratoga from our trip to see Lloyd run today. Just saw the reply as well and couldn't agree more about his run today. Good to see everyone today. Chalk it up as a learning experience and we'll run again another day.

Pictures from Lloyd today
Another great day at Aqueduct. As Nick said, Lloyd was pretty rank from the start. We spoke with CC right after the race and he thought that even with the rankness at the beginning Lloyd should have responded coming around the second turn but just didn't. Gotta love him when he said, he did not respond and I didn't want to hurt him, wanted to bring him back safe. Some of the pictures I have of the start you can see Lloyd's head high in the air, then cocked to the right as he was fighting CC. Sam the bugler posed for a picture with us. Dave took one of the pictures and I am sure he will post it soon. Sam was quite cordial and kept us entertained while we waited for the race to start. Note that Javier was wearing a DeeTee cap while squiring Lloyd around the paddock.
Great to see everyone. Looking forward to Lloyd's next start. Many thanks to Steve, Gary, Chuck and everyone else who helps to keep this circus tent up!! http://www.kodakgallery.com/gallery/..._photos_button |

Thanks so much for posting these. For those of us out here in the heartland it helps so much to see them. I'm happy CC was careful with him and he'll come back and get the next one.

Great seeing everyone again today. Great also that Lloyd came back ok too, because I truly believe the third time will be the charm. Next time when we leave that winners circle to watch the replay, it won't be to make room for some other group. Michelle, great slide show. Thanks to Steve, Gary, CC and everyone involved with Lloyd.

Just off phone with Gary... Lloydobler scoped clean yesterday after the race and is 100% this morning. Obviously a disappointing finish Saturday, but no harm done. The colt never got to relax as he did in the debut, and tired after fighting with Lopez early, pressing the pace for three quarters and failing to change leads. We'll likely return to 6f for the next start in about 3 weeks.
Glad those that came out had a nice day. Thanks to Gary, Paul, Javier and CC for taking care of Lloyd. We'll look forward to the next outing!

Hit the ticket on a $1 cover. 1 X 2 X 2 X 3. If Lloyd or Comical won, we would have had a $6 winning ticket |

It really helped that they bet Comical down to 2-5, I thought that was a bit ridiculous. Then Channing Hill (who takes pleanty of crap around here) actually delivered nice ride back to back (2nd & especially 3rd when he looked like he had nothing going into the turn). Like I said it was a tricky little sequance, that paid off nicely for you guys. Congrats again.

I loved the Gyamarti horse in the 5th even before we knew the track was so speed biased, to me was the lone speed in the race, showed he could run a fast enough race before the claim and I figured Gyamarti had time to figure this one out. I figured the horse could go right down the pike and was fortunate to be right at a very nice price, that horse made me a lot of money yesterday! |
