You mean like the guy you SCREAMED at for calling Limehouse "Limestone"?

When I'm 100 and on my deathbed, I'll still remember that and laugh my ass off.....

That was great!!!

a true handicapper doesn't get too excited unless it's a big score
the reason being is, well, it's like if you studied your ass off for an exam
you would expect to do well on it~same thing
I know you girls like the horses, but addressing the horse by number
at the track has been protocol there for a loooong time
jockey betting makes me want to vomit

Well here's hoping you call the horses by their names.

Wait a minute....

Tell me dear... during the Wood what did you call Bellamy Road? By his number? I find that hard to believe.

I was SCREAMING for Pavo (Oh shut up! I liked him!). I mean, while he was still in view (which wasn't very long.....), poor thing.

The track can be quite exasperating
most of the people there are undesirables
with little horse racing knowledge, (handicapping or history)
they don't rely on the form, only from the track program, betting odds & numbers~and jockeys
it just struck me as odd you don't like when people call the horses by #
when the majority do this, at least at all the tracks I've been to
some quotes from the past CD spring meet:
"Don't bet Robbie, he hasn't won all day" (after the third race)
"C'mon Bridge, do what you do" (on a hapless nag)
Me: "Damn, Barbaro ran on of the best derbies I've ever seen!"
Guy next to me:"You mean the 8?"
at the windows:
"Who you like, man?"
me: "Well I kind of like the 4"
"The 4? 4 ain't won all day!"
Don't get me started on betting names.

I'm pretty stoic at the races...I mean would you see The Fonz
jumping up and down and acting like a nut over a horse?
win or lose, I'm cool as a cucumber...
(don't get any funny ideas about "cucumbers" )

Sometimes I find myself wandering that aisle just thinkin' that it's all about head.

Then along come two beautiful, firm, red, ripe tomatoes, or two elegantly shaped egg plants, or a couple of perky avacadoes to get my mind thinkin' of other things.

Juicy and sweet.

By the time I've made my selections, they're pushing their carts away...shaking their heads.

I won't go into what needs to be done when I get to the fish counter searching for clams or oysters. That almost made some lady call the manager.

Heck, if I was within twenty minutes of So Cal, I'd be over to your place.
Then you'd know the answer.
It's kind of like, I can't tell you, but I can show you.
Are you coming to NY anytime?

Okay now that a few have answered (and someone I wanted to didn't, as usual ) let's move on.....

What kind of behavior irritates you at the track / OTB?

You know what i really hate? Going up to the window and having one of those people in front of me who doesn't have a clue and starts to chit chat like some of us have all ******* day!

What's even worse though are the guys (sexist, i know, but it's always the old guys) who yell for the jockey the whole time (JONNNNEEEE, C'MON JONNNNEEEE), call the poor horse by their number (should be illegal. "C'mon TWO! C'mon TWO." Oh shut the hell up. He has a name, you imbecile.) , praise the jock when they win and call the horse a nag, etc., if they lose. Want to smack those types!

(Guess we shouldn't mention that we often do the voices of the horses during the races, huh Happy T and Gallant? I wonder if that bothers anyone...).

What irritates you?
That's GPK right there... COME ON 2, COME ON 2, GET UP THERE! LMAO

If he says he spreads the oysters and takes a good lick, I'm going home... won't be able to handle it.
