Not a great beginning for Del Mar.

Saratoga Yankee was vanned off after the race.

I guess Holy Candy and Valkyire Missile are okay...

(Playful Council wasn't so lucky).

Oh sure lets run this old guy after 4 years off.

Mr. Trieste, who I thought or hoped had been retired once and for all, at Zia a few days ago...

Hope he's alright.

I read elsewhere that it's a soft tissue injury in his right front.

Warrens Rocky and True Again in the 4th at BHP Friday.

Did not look good for either of them, but had not heard anything definitively.

From the Daily News, Jerry Bossert

"Missile Motor, who was vanned off after the fifth race with an injury to his right front leg, suffered only a soft tissue injury after X-rays came back negative, according to the New York Racing Association. The 9-year-old gelding was making his 83rd start and owns 20 wins, 19 second-place finishes and 11 third-place finishes in his career with earnings of $511,623. Let’s hope for the best for the old warrior."

I heard that both are gone. Sorry.

I'm glad to hear Missile Motor is still with us.

Apparently Missile Motor developed an infection and is gone. A shame.

That's too bad. I hate losing any of them, but especially one that I had so much fun following.
