Fri. 10-21
First, I wanted to say thanks for all the support, I really appreciate it.
So yesterday, one of the final 10 of us made a mis-step, so we are down to nine perfect streaks of 12/12 remaining. Of course even having the last perfect streak doesn't guarantee anything, unless it goes through the entire meet. 21 other players have active streaks of at least nine in a row, including eight who are at 11/11, so there is no chance to let up. Seven of the eight races qualify to be picked from today, so there should be more variety in picks. My pick for today is... And then there were 3!
1 melolengo 13 / 13 2 spam55 13 / 13 3 ranger5830 13 / 13 4 dusty68 12 / 0 The ranks chasing you were thinned, too. Just four 12/12's left. It's really impressive that your making a good run at it yet again, ranger.

Thanks Dunbar.
I did not think yesterday was as tough as it turned out to be, as three of the top five popular picks were successful, yet we lost 2/3 of the last perfect streaks. I have a feeling if War Factor had not barely won the photo for third in the first race, we might have lost another one. So on we go, also Clem's pick managed to run second, just like mine did, and we moved all the way up to 5th and 7th respectively in total places, so great job! You can have the total places win as long as I get the show streak. Not crazy about today's pick, as it is a down the hill race, but he is 9-for-9 in the money in down the hill races, and should get a good trip. It's... Race 4 #3 Boozer Good luck! Also, there is now a 55-way tie for highest win payout after Stylistic United's highly improbable ($180.80) win in the fifth yesterday. Good luck to anyone trying to beat that. |

Too bad, ranger. Very nice run, though.
Maybe you and mclem can stay in the hunt for most Places. If that $180 highest win payoff holds up, each winner will collect a whopping $9.09 in prize money.

Sunday 10/23
I went back and forth, between Boozer and Richard's Boy, just pulled the trigger on the wrong one. It happens, that's racing. Thanks, Dunbar sorry Ranger terrific run hopefully we can stay in the total place race. I see you dropped to 12th me 17, 1 person has 9 then about 10 or so people tied with 8 just ahead of us. Let's get back on track.

Oh well, you win some you lose some. I also went back and forth, not with Richard's Boy, because I would rarely use a horse in the 1 hole down the hill, but with Mastery, the big favorite in race 5. I'm just hesitant to use first time starters in this contest, but in hindsight I wish I would have. Anyway, we still have a chance at the most places prize, so let's press forward for that and go back to the dirt sprints, with
Race 5 #8 Filly on Fire Good luck! And thanks again for all the support, hopefully in the winter-spring contest someone here can finish the job. |

Taking the other big chalk,
Race 5 #7 Jilly Good luck! And good job Clem to get all the way to 14th in total places! I've slipped a bit there, but with two winners in a row I've gone from 80th to 16th in total wins, so we both have a chance! Hopefully your pick runs second and mine wins, that would be the best case scenario. |

Yesterday's win got me to 12th place in the win standings, but still two behind with six days left. Today's eligible races looked very difficult, and if I had a show streak to worry about, I would strongly consider skipping today, but since I need winners, I have to play, and I'm taking one that shouldn't get hardly any picks, so we might make up ground if he wins.

Thanks Clem.
Well, there was good news and bad news yesterday, my pick didn't win,but neither did any of the other top players, so I'm still two wins behind in 13th place with five days left. Sawbuck was only chosen by 13 players, yet he went off as the 2-1 favorite, so I feel I made a good selection. It seems like most people just take the shortest morning line odds horse in the shortest field and use that as their selection. Anyway, I need to make up ground, and hope to do so with, Race 5 #6 Finallygotabentley Good luck! Going against big favorite Nextdoorneighbor because I strongly feel he much prefers outside posts and might not fire his best shot from the two hole. If I'm wrong, we're done, so we shall see. |
