well, maybe there was something wrong with him...a fever maybe? so they skipped the jcgc rather than run him when he wasn't 100%. has nothing to do with finishing second in either race imo. invasor has impressed me this year, one loss ever. that horse is for real. the layoff is a bit of a worry, but i've learned my lesson about ignoring the best horse just because of time between races. of course i'm not saying invasor is the best--altho my kids are probably going to be rooting for him because kenny mayne says he is!!

yeah i agree 100%. there was something physically wrong with him.
hooves is saying that they didn't run him in the jcgc because they know that the other horse is better and invasor's connections would rather run second to him in the bcc than the jcgc. i was just asking hooves why - if it is true that invasor's connections believe that the other horse is better - they wouldn't simply take second prize money in both races.
he seems to be implying that if invasor ran second in the jcgc he would not then be able to also win second prize money in the bcc. that doesn't make sense to me.
oh well....it is a moot point anyway. invasor is going to win.

This borders on the absolute most ridiculous thing I've ever read on this forum. And there has been plenty of competition.

I'll second that.

I think Dini and Ouija are the most logical singles BTW...

well,
you have to look at what we are talking about.
CQuay seems like a single to me.
but its not part of the pick 6.
for the early pick 4, Im not sure I need to single in that race.

the 2 most likely winners of the day, imo, are in the last 2 races.
HRun and Bernardini.
that makes me nervous b/c I hate not having a lot of coverage in the last legs of the pick 4 or pick 6.
but thats just the way it gets carded sometimes.

most likely winners of the day:

Hurricane Run
Bernardini
CQuay
Dreaming of Anna
Wait A While
Bordonaro

Distaff and Mile are going to take a lot of coverage from me I think to get through those legs.

I go back and forth on the Mile.
sometimes its clear, sometimes not.
will not know for sure until early Sat morning.

explain this to me.
normally, I dont give 2 sh*ts why anyone does or does not like any particular horse.
but you obviously have a complete hatred for the horse if you would rather LOSE money than WIN money.
thats cool, I hate plenty of horses.

but whats so bad about Bern?
it cant be the Arab owners b/c your signature suggests you dont have a problem with Sheik Mo's brother.
is it Albertrani?
you dont like Ben Kingsley's twin?

he and CQuay seem the most logical plays.
I just worry that he left his best race on the track in the Champagne.
like Oracle said, that was the Grade 1 that had to be a target from day 1 with this horse.

I can answer this one.You have a horse coasting around there in 48,and you got a f'n crown on his head.He has a great stride, and has pretty numbers. He has won 6 in a row against nobody.Lava Man has won 7 in a row against nobody.Invasor has won 8 out of 9 against nobody.Throw all those figures made under no pressure(at all) out the door.On Saturday,it ain't gunna be about figures. It's gunna be about looking a horse in the eye,and taking him on with all you got,and we are gunna find out just which one of these 3 individuals has the bigger heart. It ain't gunna be about some #.It ain't gunna be about a pretty stride. They gunna be wobbling from fatigue. It wasn't real pretty when Ghostzapper and Liam hooked up.It was an ugly fight down the outside of the track, but we found out who had more heart, and we will do the same come Saturday. We will find out whether prettyboy wants to keep trying a horse that he can't get by the 1st time.We find that out Saturday.

I don't particularly see a lot of great singles on the card.I see a lot of races where I would be comfortable with pairs of horses per race.In the distaf,I like both Pine Island, and Pool Land.Reality is that I probably will have to single Pine Island.Spun Sugar, and F Indian both should have been nailed late by Balletto.Pine Island (or somebody else)will not be weak like her.

You can take numbers and prove or disprove about anything after the fact. Just look for the right numbers. Kinda like if the 3 hole has produced more winners tha the 4 hole. Really whats the differance in these 2? The more important thing is who is inside and who is outside of you. Im not knocking statistics , just pointing out some of the very narrow barrings they have on the races.

YES!!! Love this post. It is exactly what i think. Horses dont beat clocks or pens but other horses to become a real champ. In this age of rag sheet, beyers and tgraph forms sometimes we forget what racing is about.

Well, there are 2 horses facing each other, and they've each run 7 times this year. One has won 6 races(and 2.06 mil,)and the other has won all 7 races(and 2.7 mil.) Somehow the one who has won fewer races, and less money is a lock over the other one? LOL..I don't know who is going to win that race.I would expect a battle to the wire (similiar to what we see in other Breeders Cup Classic races.)Hopefully a fight to the wire(although I think most on here want to see a slaughter.)

I want to see a battle as well, Lava Man tried so hard once he had to get vanned off, no wonder he didn't ship and run well. He looks back to his old self and I think he will have a better showing, he won't give up that's for sure.

As for singles, maybe not a single, but what about Circular Quay underneath key in a ex tri's and spr's. I think he's a 1 turn sprinter, but he will try hard and has shown enough to compete here...

That's not one of my more favorite races.I think Scat Daddy is the more reliable of the 2.That horse seems to have "I am a soldier" tattoed on him somewhere.I think Lukas horse didn't care for Belmont, and loves Churchill. He could be tough if he can get clear.Guess you can tell it isn't a race I have a good feel for.

I like the Lukas horse as well, he would be one of the ones on top, I can picture Lukas in the winners circle with that big FU smile...

Joel isn't a rule to take the best older and younger horses when they face each other like this time of year. It would be hard to leave Wait a While out. Good Luck.
