9th race SUPERFECTA WHEEL

1st: 2,6,8
2nd: 2,5,6,8,10
3rd: 2,5,6,8,10
4th: 2,5,6,8,10

Like 5 and 10,but i'll play this. Not thrilled with this track.Nothing worse than a messed up track.

at the 3/8 pole I thought PS was going to blow by the leaders but Stormello was dead game to the wire.

Yea,f'd up track.I didn't use that damn Stormello(gate to wire.)G D IT. Trainer said he didn't want him on the lead.I knew that, but Kent had a mind of his own and stole it on this speed track today.

I had $50 across on Liquidity. That horse has been training so well lately. But darn good performance by Stormello.

Stormello is a decent horse.I would of used him in front, but the trainer said all week that he wanted him off the lead.Kent knew it was a speed crazy track, and stole this.Simple as that.A classic gate to wire speed bias.I have seen this hundreds of times. The 1st one out of the game gets it.They get encountered but they come back to fight the challenger off. This race was going to the 1st one out of the gate.

I don't think the first race knocked him out as much as he is simply a sprinter that has been foolishly stretched out. When he failed going to 7 he had no business going to 8.5.

Tough beat 2Hot. Was pulling for ya coming down the stretch, only to get nipped by a horse that Hooves touted as a WPSer..(10-1) NIce run though

Notional n' P Secret were the disappointments in the race. The others either ran well,or were hurt by a track that did not allow somebody to close well on the leaders. We didn't get all that much rain, but this cushion surface is evidently very sensitive to water. They said speed might do better on it with a little rain.Wo Nelly...that filly who drew clear on the turn in the 7th stopped so badly.I have never seen a horse stop that badly, and still hold for 2nd place. This Hwd Futurity points out why a speed bias is not always so easy to cap for.I figured that Notional,Liquidity,or P Secret would lead that race.Who is on the lead? The horse that the trainer said needs to stay off the lead in this race. All week,he was saying that if he is a mile and a quarter horse, then he better start slowing down early in his races.

Cushion seem to change quickly and my guess is that the cold temp played as much as the water. It will be intresting this summer when it's 100' in july.
