His name is Helene Mascot, although he's widely remembered by his former name Salford Mill...

He was 2nd in the Derby Trial (to Green Birdie) and went on to win the HK Derby in glorious fashion. http://www.hkjc.com/english/racing/r...2008&raceno=08 Such high hopes for this one... such a bright future. It really looked like he was the next big star. He had only one start last year (came in last) and a couple this season (didn't do well at all). Chadwick rode him in his last barrier trial and he came home ahead of some amazing runners - Viva Pataca, Collection and Armada. Oh well. Hope he's okay and that he has a long and happy life. As an aside, I've never understood the fascination with the name "Helene" for these guys but it's a little sad as they're all retired now. Onemorenomore stumbled at Warwick Farm on Tuesday morning whilst trotting and went down on his knees. X-rays were taken on Wednesday revealing a damaged exterior carpal bone.
