Also, as a sidenote: I tried but my wife rejected Rachel Alexandra as a name.
You should have first pretended to want to name her "Bayakoa" or "Zenyatta". After those, Rachel Alexandra would have sounded like a great name!

(Congrats, btw!)

Three daughters and a wife. You deserve a Congressional Medal of Honor or at least a Purple Heart.

Thanks. I jokingly suggested Zenyatta as a middle name for one of our other daughters. All I got was a dirty look and she started ignoring my name suggestions.

Haha, thanks. My daughters are only 5 and 3 right now and still like me...but let me get back to you in 10-15 years and see where things stand. Although, my 5 year old recently told me that "horse racing is boring." It'll be nice when I'm able to get them back to the track so they can see the horses close up. I think her tune will change.

I hope you have success in getting them to like the sport. Neither of my grown kids share my enthusiasm for it. My son will go with me, if I ask him, but he has no real interest in the intellectual challenge of it and the same can be said for my daughter. She will go with her girlfriends or whichever guy she's dating, but it's more of a social thing for her. She even likes to go to Vegas, but
mostly for the shopping and the spa and the food and drink. She hardly gambles at all, if any.

At this rate, Sittin On Go might have a shot to make the starting gate based on that Iroquois win.

Kind of interesting that 4 of the top 6 times are from the Blue Grass.

On that same day, Malathaat finished the 8.5 furlong Ashland in 1:42.94. Her final 1/16th was roughly 6.05. If we estimate that she would have finished the next 1/16th in 6.55 seconds, her time for 9 furlongs would have been 1:49.49 and her final 3/8ths would be under 36.5 seconds. That would put her 4th on that list.

I'm a little skeptical of those final Blue Grass fractions and what they mean for Derby Day.
