Well, we can't have that...

I have decided to quit my job as an Investment Associate and become a Doctor just so I can make sure you're freaked out for the future.

Competing? Leader in the clubhouse and up by 11 strokes...

Could become a classic? Already a signature favorite in less than 24 hours...

No need to put all that effort into becoming a doctor.....you in a nurses aid position could cause enough anxiety...

I remember a similar thread I believe by this same person and the gut wrenching dilemma at that point was whether or not to go to jockey school. that might have been on espn, I'm not sure. scary to think one would turn to derbytrail for career advice.

I actually think this is a great place for something like that. You would be surprised how many people have helped me in regards to accounting. Lots of nice people around here, willing to offer advice and ideas.

1) I think it is alot easier to ask online then in real life, you are 'sheltered' in some way
2) You are getting a real broad perspective on things, which I think is great, because how they do things in Chicago, they don't do them in New York or California.

I agree with this completely.....however, it only works if one is actually interested in differing viewpoints and advice from those who might have more/better info....the threadstarter in this instance has proven MANY times that it is simply not the case.

i assume you're talking about pm's or talking to people offline or on the phone, with people that you have established some amount of credibility with.
I must have missed when you started a thread asking for accounting help.

I don't disagree that aren't good knowledgable people on here, but if I really wanted some serious help I wouldn't create a thread about it, I'd try to reach out to those people directly. maybe its just me.

Actually I got some advice from people I normally didn't talk to also but they offered it and I definitely listened because it was all good information. It was about 2-3 months ago. I was more ranting about how gay the corporate world is and how people want experience, but you can't get experience without a flippin job. Got both accounting advice, and just job hunting advice. And I doubt these people did it because of my good looks, they were just being good people helping a brotha out

You will not be invited to participate if that is the way you write it in your admissions application essay

What I would do: make an appointment as soon as possible with an admissions counselor at the nearest vet school - more than one if necessary. Usually these folks are in the Dean's office working with the admissions committee.

They will review your current bonafides to date (yes, they meet with many students who are currently undergraduate juniors), where you fit now in the applicant pool, and advise you on what you will need to do over the next year or few to make your application as solid as it can be.

These people are extremely helpful. Their job is to help you gain entry into professional school. Use them. They know what it takes to be admitted.
about time a professional showed up!

The Lobotomy Club appears very relevent. This way you can be sure the medical field is right for you before inflicting others.
