I took my little kids to the track yesterday and they loved it. The horses were just a small part of the whole experience. At one point Jan Rushton walked by us and my daughter said "Daddy look at that big silly hat!" With so much to look at, I think it's a great place for kids.

OTB's are another story

I take my grandkids to the track and yes the oldest is interested in 'capping and other aspects of the game. But, I can't take him to an OTB in NY or the Racino but I can take him to the harness track.
I have no problem with a kid genious in the horse game but, he was on OTB TV. Like I said their are very real differences.
Maybe they will shutdown OTB because of this. If that is the case they should do the show from the elementary school.

Ever watch MSG? The guy on the commercials looks exactly like you.

So do you consider these people on an OTB CHANNEL to be successful and said posters aren't? Because that's what I gather from your post.

Could it be you don't know what jealousy means?

Given those four awful choices I might have to go with Manny!

That's the first thing we taught them.

well, that's cool. i guess i thought they'd be bored, since there is a wait between races and all...
i just don't understand the big deal about a kid being on a show, whether children are allowed at OTB's or not. seems that with a parent, they ought to be allowed. maybe instead of railing against a youth being on the show, there ought to be a fuss made about them not being allowed in an OTB with a parent/guardian.

I have no problem with the kid being on the show. His family is in the business, he grew up with horse racing, and obviously has some knowledge.

As far as kids in OTBs, I just think it's a bad idea. There are just too many degenerate parents, who would bring thier kids in and ignore them completely. I've seen it happen many times, even though kids aren't allowed.

I guess you were being sarcastic with your post, which is what I hoped.

Never said "the posters" aren't successful and you gathered wrong from my post. Someone one makes a comment and people not even involved get slam, that's what I didn't think was fair.

Think of the babes this little kid is going to get once he grows up. He'll be taking supermodels to his proms. Tom Brady, look out.
