you can choose to be as detailed or as general as you want with horseracing.

A lot of horseplayers mainly look at running lines, finish position, class, and speed figures on a sheet of paper.

Of course the actual races aren't computer simulations based on programs to fit the data. There are actually primates riding around on top of ungulates dealing with atmospheric phenomena and track conditions. The different surfaces and distances vary enough and demand different enough ability sets to make it difficult to predict many races with data alone.

I rarely have much to add. I know my limitations and love to learn the fine points when a race is broken down in an articulate manner, but I have to state this opinion:

Between last week's riveting contest with 7K+ views, and some of the "instant classics" in this thread, it is like Christmas 5 weeks early!!!!!

As we used to say in the dyas ov vinyl "The Hits just keep on coming!"

I'm at work so I will have to view it later, but it sounds like we are in agreement. The only difference is you prefer the Jock making his move once they straighten out in the stretch. I think this is a debatable point and it really depends on which track you are running at, the type of horse running, track conditions...ect...ect when the move is made. The main point is not to engage too early as to sacrifice your horse for a good placing, I like to refer to this as horses doing the dirty work.

Today in the last race at Churchill Downs Aldo Cuntchano topped them all aboard the 4 horse. What a pathetic display

The video of that race should be used as evidence to argue that whips should be banned.

I would use the video of that race to show that Aldo Cuntchano should be banned

QUICK

drug test Edgar Prado. That's about as bad a ride as you'll ever see (on an even money shot) by a reputedly top flight jockey.

Stop and go, Edgar; it's a car.

Jean-Luc didn't exactly distinguish himself either.

If I had bet I might have fooled around with the 10....and gotten nothing and been disgusted.

DUMBASS ride by Coa: steered her behind horses when he could've followed the winner out entering the stretch.

Hard to figure out the NY jocks. They ride as if the rail is golden on the AQU and SAR turf course; AND, have even begun doing the same thing at BEL. They might take some lessons from the CRC jocks, who ride an, at least, equally speed biased turf (assuming that is the argument) and, while consistently contributing some of the most ridiculous rides one could want, AT LEAST have the smarts to GET OUTSIDE for the stretch run. No real excuse for getting blocked on the turf in NY (except if you're behind Castellano, and he's obstructing, as usual).

Check out Coa's ride on her in May at Belmont, if you thought today's ride was ridiculous. You'll shake your head again.
