![]() Drops from 30/1 to 8/1....of course there's only $10 in the win pool for her so wasn't a very big bet

![]() Running five wide for the first half certainly didn't help. On the bright side, she did break well and straight this time.

![]() Typically fast 2 yr old first 1/4 made it tough on her from the outside . She did show a lot of early speed .

![]() That ride was horrible. He goes 5 wide, fails to back her off a fast pace when stuck out there and instead of shutting her down when she gets cut off at the top of stretch when she has no chance, that moron whips her the length of the stretch. She was outclassed, but Hedbert should be shot for that ride.

![]() Just off phone with Chuck. Our girl came back pretty banged up from the experience. Looks like she got stepped on pretty good with one gash on an outside hind and caught herself too with another cut on the inside. Hebert probably should have backed off the very hot early pace when it became clear she wasn't getting the lead, but that group was an honest $50k bunch.
More later from Chuck, but the lone good news is she got fitness out of it and came back more or less in one piece. We'll look towards a good spot at Turfway in 4 weeks..

![]() Well, it was great fun to see a bunch of fellow DeeTee'rs - a beautiful fall day at CD.
She broke really well, and was traveling freely in good stride. I guess I figure it was only a 6f race, I'm not sure where exactly the jock was supposed to haul back on her to tuck her in ![]() I see it as just the way the race unfolded, no, didn't help our horse. He had horse through the turn, and she quit at the head of the stretch. JMHO. Went back to the barn to see her afterwards, and by that time she was washed, poulticed, shipping wraps and sheet on, just waiting for the trip home. She was in the back of the stall nibbling on hay, and she was not very interested in talking about it, nor in being social and getting some pets. It's horse racing - guess we have to live for "NEXT time" .... ![]() Hey, here's some good news - Paula Simon said SWLY is doing great out at the farm on the comeback trail ![]()

![]() You don't lose that much ground going 5 wide on the backstretch
it's the 5 wide on the turn that hurt that and going up against better horses. I don't know- if he backs off she might have something left but she seems one pace.

![]() A good break for all 9 runners made it tough for Pills. It became clear she wasn't going to make the lead. Horses to her inside forced her even wider through the turn. It was a tough spot for her today. I think the #9 horse-Moonstruck Bertie is a bet back from our race. Taken back after a decent break to save ground and relaxed down the backside seemed to help the Firster. The big, long legged gray looked very impressive in the paddock and was really making up a lot of ground in the final 1/16th. Another super-fun day overall with Rampillion and Ships Cabin on the card and all the fellow DT'ers on hand in Louisville.
