I personally think its a hard sale to go to. There are just so many types of horses for sale. I think you really have to be organized and keep you mind on what you are there for. I went looking for a 2yr old or racing prospect and got shut out. I was hoping to get a good price on one but the ones I looked at went a little higher than I expected. At least I got some good bread pudding for lunch....

My club has a horse for sale tomorrow, hip 491, if you are interested.
https://secure.keeneland.com/sales/jan09/pdfs/491.pdf I think the purpose of it, though, is for the majority owners to buy us out. |

No difference in the quality of the foals but in the # of foals you can expect to get from her, assuming good health and an average lifespan.
Also, since Vallenzeri is not exactly bred to be a hotshot 2yo (or even an early 3yo type) it means that the potential buyer would have to wait that much longer for Azeri's strength or weakness to show. From a buyers point of view, I'd like to see a mare with a 2yo by Speightstown or other "2yo sire" because there is a greater chance that early wins by that foal make the one the mare is carrying more useful and therefor more valuable at auction. Remember too that the market was not kind to mares like Winning Colors and Lady's Secret after their early foals were not that good. If Azeri's first 3 or 4 foals struggle at the races do you think tht her 5th (born when she's about 17) will sell for a lot of money? I don't.

I think he is an awesome trainer, one of the very best...A tremendous business person who clearly dominated the sport and built an empire and super stable. I think his immense success was the product of great abilty, incredible work ethic, and the advent of some of the best chemical use in the industry. He is super smart hired the best vet's who had the best chemicals and spent millions of dollars winning tens of millions of dollars.
