I should add that the fact that Garcia does not have a job is mindboggling. The Tampa Bay Bucs this year are clearly in the ten worst teams I have seen in my lifetime. Yet somehow with Garcia at QB last year they went 9-7. I bet at least 12 teams in the NFL would be better off with Garcia at QB.

So think about that, we all know Russell is terrible and yet the Raiders could easily go 6-10 with him. They would be contending for the playoffs with Garcia.
I wasnt giving them those games, just pointing the ones that they had a better than 50% chance of winning. They will undoubtedly lose one of those three. As bad as Russell is it wasnt like the games against the Giants, Houston or Denver would have been wins with Johnny Unitas at QB.

Raiders coach Tom Cable said he spoke to Jamarcus Russell about why he was benched and the quarterback understands now.

Russell refused to take responsibility for his play after the Week 7 loss to the Jets. But Cable pointed out how Russell had a mental lapse on the very first play of the game and made two horrible decisions on interceptions. The Raiders are going back to Russell this week for more torture.Source: Oakland Tribune

Cable isn't a coach he is Davis's puppet. He does what he is told, that's why Russell starts and he has a job. Kiffin told Davis that Russell sucked and he had no chance to succeed if he played him. Davis told him to play him anyway. Kiffin said he didn't want to it was hopeless and he was soon fired for insubordination.

Cable-"Russell, you suck but we dont have any other options right now."

Russell - "Uh ok coach. I still get paid right?"

Cable- "Remember Mr. Davis did try to weasel out of a contract with his last coach. That's why I had to clock that asst coach. To intimidate Al a little. He wasnt scared of that whiny Kiffen."

Russell - "So I should take a swing at somebody?"

Cable- "Don't bother, JaMarcus as inaccurate as you have been you'll surely miss"

Russell- "Do we play Tulane? I always played pretty good against them."

Cable- "Sorry we couldnt get them this year. Something about us weakening their strength of schedule??"

Russell- "Where are we ranked anyway?"

Cable-"Well I think we are about 28th."

Russell -"Does that get us a bowl bid?"

Cable punches himself.

And the Comedy continues!!!

JaMarcus Russell said after Sunday's loss to San Diego that he was pleased with his 109-yard passing effort.

"I did a pretty good job," he said. Russell took five sacks, fumbled, threw an interception, averaged under five yards per pass attempt, and completed two passes for 16 yards to his wide receivers.

As terrible as he is it is tough to not feel some sympathy for him when you see the play that the two receivers tripped over each other:

Amazingly and somewhat coincidentally, Gradkowski starts in place of Russell and the Raiders beat one of the best teams in the NFL.

I don't follow the Raiders that close. How long has Uncle Fester been their coach?
