Thanks Pete, mb, and gorvy. That was just the 2nd one I've done, and I thought it was pretty fun.
I certainly can't complain about luck. I only got this far because a few races ago a rider in front fell off just before the finish line. I was more confident in today's pick than in many others. Flashover has been in the money 8 of 11 lifetime races. The New Zealand filly had a miserable 1st US race, another filly was first-time-on-grass, and another was coming back from a 5-month break, I was pretty sure the consistent Flashover could beat two of them. Wrong. I'll be interested in how many players (if any) make it through the meet. There will be around 40 left after today. Hope to see you here for the next Showvivor. --Dunbar

I was curious how many people made it to the end of the Santa Anita Showvivor.
Answer: 3 people made it. So everyone who made it collected prize money, and the first 2 tiebreakers came into play: from the website.... Chuck Noel wins the contest, winning with the first tie-breaker, the highest SHOW price before Breeders' Cup Weekend. ($7.20) Tom Oseransky comes in second in the contest. Second place went to the second tie-breaker, and Tom had the highest SHOW price Breeders' Cup weekend of $2.40. Donna Curtis finishes in 3rd place. rafiki Highest Show Price before Breeders' Cup: 7.20 Highest Show Price Final Weekend (incl. BC): 2.80 Total Show Prices: 69.10 Hoseman Highest Show Price before Breeders' Cup: 2.60 Highest Show Price Final Weekend (incl. BC): 2.40 Total Show Prices: 61.70 bumbumsr Highest Show Price before Breeders' Cup: 2.60 Highest Show Price Final Weekend (incl. BC): 2.20 Total Show Prices: 61.60 My highest show payoff was 2.80, which I'm surprised would have been good enough for 2nd place, had I made it all the way. A 4th player bombed out the last day (Sunday). And 4 others dropped out during the BC itself. --Dunbar

good stuff. this is why I wait until the last few days before going for it in these one shot show down contests. You guys lost the right way -- losing on a horse you thought would finish top 3, not a horse that you selected to sneak one in there for tie breaks.
