Did win bets on Faint Perfume and Playwright (incase Spacecraft doesn't feel like winning today). ... yet to be run. Aaah well if nothing else there's Japan tomorrow night. Haven't read back thru this thread yet... hope you all did well. edit - At the lst minute I did an exacta... Spacecraft over Plauwright, Pacino and Magical Pearl. Hay List certainly didn't disappoint today - very very easy. Looks like he could be exceptional.
Didn't stay at MV long, but a great day. Looking forward to the Manikato where Hay List will hopefully pick up his first Gr1 win!

If you do come over, I'd recommend you check out the twilight races at Ellerslie the day before the sale starts if you get the chance. It's a terrific night at NZ's best racecourse. Last edited by _ed_ : 09-11-2010 at 06:33 AM. |

Katie Lee was a little disappointing today.
Here's a replay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnPoiQer62k She might have had a few excuses. She's never been great fresh - she didn't win the first start of either of her last two campaigns - and she looked a little bit fat. Plus, most of the races were won from on or near the pace, and some rain on the day made the track a little shifty. It definitely didn't suit all runners. But still, I think she's the 5th best horse I've ever seen, and that performance today wasn't anywhere near what I expected. She was 7-8 lengths below her best form, and will have to improve a lot to be competitive in the Melbourne campaign they've got planned. |

That's a big claim! 12 G1s to go yet to equal Sunline.
But she was definitely amazing on Saturday. |

More Joyous better than Typhoon Tracy but as far as Sunline goes....... Not a chance,
Idiotic Statement & would be very surprised if she had said it |

Speaking of Sunline, on Sunsett...
http://www.thoroughbrednews.com.au/n....aspx?id=48699 Regarding the Manikato, who else is pointed? All Silent, Stanzout, Rostova (she never gets any attention, does she?)... can anyone tell me who else? |

So apparently Mr. McNair had Hay List inoculated recently as it's pretty definite he'll make the tri for the Hong Kong Sprint.

Not definite as yet, the owners live in Perth and there is a race over there in December that they would dearly love to win. They are very tempted by Hong Kong, but I get the impression that the main trip on the cards is Royal Ascot next year.

That's why I asked! Your post said he was going there so wondered who he'd be facing. Wanna start a Rostova appreciation society with me? No one ever talks about her! |
