After today, millions of formerly non-believing oafs will begin to draw comparisons of Casino Drive to the great thoroughbred champions of his royal bloodlines. You have to go 8 generations deep in Casino's pedigree before finding a single inbreeding trait. Casino Drive = Secretariat + Seattle Slew + Better Than Honour + A P Indy + Mineshaft + Mr. Prospector + Northern Dancer (CAN) + Deputy Minister + Nasrullah + Bold Ruler + Turn to (IRE) + Blushing Groom (FR) + Mint Copy + Native Dancer + Traffic Judge + Victoria Regina (CAN) + Buckpasser + Nashua + and yes, even + the immortal Man O War. Casino is the best bred race horse to ever call planet earth home. And today, he will claim his birthright crown!! Dr. SwineSmeller |

In all seriousness, you do realize not all of us can gamble? I mean a lot of people they're trying to reach can't do anything as far as wagering goes given our locations. If they stopped to explain why they went with a certain pick 6 I'd probably zone out. I really don't care. I know other people do but as the typical betting image is one of an old guy smoking with his head shoved in the Form at an OTB, good luck romanticizing betting. The handle seems to be doing pretty well as it is and in the economy we got now, you really wanna be trying to use this as an opportunity for newbie folks with a family to use what little disposable income they may have on the next optional claimer at Santa Anita? The money for ESPN and ABC is in the sponsors. They'd much rather I take my dough and buy Grey Goose vodka to drown out Hank, then to take that same money and lay it down on the BC Classic. The big gripes are things like attendance and since people can bet without going there, what you wanna do is promote the sport itself. I didn't get into it for love of the exacta, but for love of the Black Stallion. It's in the stories. Human and equine interest stories... the bettors that are already out there know their importance. They don't need a shout out from Kenny and Randy beyond what they're already getting-- and I most certainly notice the occasional betting plug so you're getting it whether you realize it or not. Is there any way possible (offshore, whatever) to bet this horse to come in last?
... Please say it is so. Dr. Mush is about 87% touting a horse to win only to have it come in last or second to last. At the risk of coming across as greedy, please tell me you've got the Phillies tonight |

Midnight Lute, phfew!
Holy crap. I always liked this big, beautiful horse but are they gonna mention, ya know, the new stakes record? 1:07:08. That's more than 3/5 faster than Kona Gold. I guess the whole synthetic thing adds a new factor to it but this horse is just brilliant and breaks track records in workouts. Shame he couldn't deal with the breathing issues to run in the Classic. I know they'd looked at it after last year's Sprint win. I'm glad Real Quiet's got one like this. Is he gonna retire now or do they have anything else in mind?

But, Colin's sire, Commando gives a 10x10x11x11x11x11 Casino Drive influence, with most of that influence passed on by Peter Pan. And isn't it ironic that Casino Drive DOMINATED his great great...granddaddy's namesake stakes race at Belmont Park, The Peter Pan? Furthermore, and I may be mistaken, but I'm thinking Colin produced no offspring. Dr. SwineSmeller |

Other than in the mile, horses are having trouble getting home on this course. Luckily (thank you LUTE) the race didn't cost me. I do think the horse was aided by a course that is favoring raters (probably because they want the Euros back next year.) You will never see Funky tire that way late down the hill again. This is not the normal turf course we have here. It's been manipulated for this week.

Dancing Forever, great story
He hussled at the end and got 3rd. I knew that call with him in 4th wasn't gonna hold. What a great story. I know they didn't expect him to win but after the story with Dancinginmydreams and the Barbaro-like injury. I'm sure mama's proud of her first foal.
