It's Tricky
Looked like a winner the entire race. |

What does a 112 for Trap Shot mean Khan of Khans received a 95? You can take that fig and wipe your butt with it.. The fig is fine what it means about Trap Shot is debatable. Jason Blewit called him the best sprinter in training on Belmont in 30. I kind of think Smiling Tiger would eat his lunch at 6 or 7. |

Yesterday's Manhattan reminded me of when Interpatation walked around the track in the Turf Classic under similar (but probably worse) conditions and won at huge odds.

Would love to know how you calculated that.

I think he used a classic Texas Instruments grade school calculator and multiplied 8008 times 1.
He might have added a fifth of Jack to the equation, too. |

Arlington Million or the Secretariat is what they said.

Okay. I thought it was about those races, plus whatever one they would use pre-BC.

Yes. Trappe Shot, while obviously aided by the wet track like the rest of the winners, is a seriously good horse.

Trappe Shot is very good at what they're going to keep him doing. Smiling Tiger, while a game horse who always shows up, was better off in his stall yesterday. He will have a very difficult time beating Trappe Shot in a race like the Vanderbilt if he's shipped in for it.
Is this love for Smiling Tiger from your fascination with Twirling Candy? |

Of course it is.

Smiling Tiger's form has been pretty spotty since his huge effort in last year's Malibu. He made no impression on octogenarian Euroears in the Palos Verdes, broke like crap and just edged uber-bridesmaid Captain Cherokee in the San Carlos, whipped cream puffs at Oaklawn, then was nowhere Derby Day. From day one he's been campaigned aggressively and one has to think off his latest performance that he's finally come undone.
That said, if he is toast, Freddy will come on here and say that it was the loss to Twirling Candy that did him in. |

Yeah, you're right. I was too busy watching my Donald Dizney overlay get nipped by the one horse in that race I didn't want to see win.
I guess I'll wait for the Triple Bend before making any predictions. |
