I saw Pleasantly Perfect win the Pacific Classic in 2004 without a strong pace. He was ridden very cleverly by moneybags Bailey and was sitting closer than usual. I agree Ghostzapper was better though.

yet another hijacked thread. it's a shame too, as anyone should be able to list their choices to answer the question without having the next four pages go off on a tangent about GZ and PP....
i thought tiznows run in his successful attempt at repeating as champ was an incredible performance, one for the ages. that would hands down be my vote for best of the last ten years. hard to choose after that. there are so many to choose from. azeris win in the distaff, ROG flying at the end to come oh so close....storm flag flying fighting back to win. thunderello almost hanging on. a fantastic dead heat between high chaparral and johar. lots of top efforts, as it should be. but i've yet to figure out what a subject like this has to do with comparisons to TC winners....
