Nice up and own on 18(double bogey is not a bad result if ya hit the ball in the water twice on the hole.)It was really the only glitch in his round, and I saw 2 very good putts in a row(earlier) just barely miss.I am not even talking about the one on 16.Fact is he brought it on Sunday. He felt the pressure on 18.Saved double bogey. Then, instead of moaning about it(like Sergio does,) he and his family rejoiced in that fact he had a great final round in his favorite tournament. The way they handled that whole thing on 18gave him the attitude he needed to have if he got a chance(in a playoff.)He was ready. He(and his family) had put it behind them, and that was key.Although Sergio didn't totally give it up today, all he needed was to find the green on 18,and 2 putt.He couldn't.I don't feel sorry for him.He is a good ballstriker, and should have done that.It didn't require huge sack.Just a long iron, and 2 putt.Tough break on the putt to win it,but it should have been a shorter putt(like Padraig had to win.)Sergio will never be a great putter. He had a chance to win this(without making a real tough putt) if he just does what he does well(hit the green in 2 shots on a par 4.) So,Pgrdn, this is why we say this guy should have won 3 times as many tournaments as he has.

Took you longer to make it here than I thought.

The Open gets the Irish Double, as Roy McIlroy earns the Silver Medal for low am. Congrats to your boys Kev and later this week, we shall drink a toast to them.

Or Romero's caddy when he tried to hit 2 iron out of the cabbage and that could have cost him the tournament......

All in all, the British was once again a battle of attrition. No one really won it, but a whole bunch of em lost it....

I think this guy from Argentina(Romero) really is freaky talented.Today was no fluke.I have seen that same birdie machine doing that before. He simply makes a really bad mistake, and it seems to come too late in the round for him to recover. That will not keep happening. One of the problems is he waits until the last round to make a run,and that in itself means you can't make many mistakes. He will get better at managing his game.I think if he was a little more seasoned he would have hit that putt on 18 a bit lighter, and been in the playoff.I feel worse for him than Sergio(who is already making excuses galore.)He misses putts every way possible..k? He is just not a very good putter.Harrington and Romero were putting it in the heart of the hole.He could have easily won it 3 different ways.

1)hit 18th green,and 2 putt

2)hit it closer from sand

3)make the putt

He made a good try on the putt.I give him credit for that, but he should of hit this green.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19904946/

"He pointed out that a young man took so long to rake two bunkers at the 18th green, that he lost his rhythm standing in the fairway for “15 minutes.”

“Having to wait . . . doesn’t help when you’re trying to win the British Open,” said Garcia.

Whaaaaaaaahh!
