I would like to know how this bike race translates to a horse race.

I pulled up the chart.

"The rider of the 4 horse swung wide to the outside rail to alertly avoid the traffic. The race was later declared a no-contest with most of the field going down on the far turn."

There was one death out of that accident ... I would say it's the bastard on the left riding the rail.

Fatman herds the pack illegally.
He is riding the car... steering's a little loose.
Steward's inquiry DQed him.
He was the lone speed in the race.
So the ride was a bad one.

Juding the field Smarty Jones faced is infinitely easier after the race. It's tough to pass judgment on this group until we see them shake-out down the road. As of right now, they aren't turning heads, but things change.
