I still can't tell whether or not this is all an elaborate act. If it is, bravo.

If Moss gets jammed well at the line and has a safety rolling to him - Brady is not a good qb for him.

The latter scenerio happened in the playoffs last year - and the former scenerio happened a lot in the first 9 or 10 games when the Pats were scoring 40 a game and torching everyone.

If you jam Moss well at the line - and have a safety over the top - Jeff Geroge is the only qb he's had who would stick with him, and still make big plays time and again.
I was not looking at it from a purely "mosscentric" view. I was just thinking how much fun it would have been to watch an offense where you had to 2 of the top 10 athletes in the league playing QB and WR. It would have been something to see.

And you want to make it about the Raiders? He shined individually in each of his first 4 games with the Raiders and quit on them because their O-line couldn't hold blocks for more than 0.2 seconds. That and he wasn't healthy

Might as well as get your team a high draft pick if they thoroughly suck that bad.

I don't understand what you are getting at.

Lots of records and no titles.

My point on the Raiders was it made no sense signing him...they needed more important things than a receiver. Your comment on their off. line kind of hints at that.

Back to the Randy Pats....16-0....and the champions of the league who beat them were 10-6 with no offensive records set.

And NO Moss.

I guess their stones rolled.

Frerotte's first start came next week against the 49ers.

The Vikings won 35-7

Gus went 16-for-21 with 267 passing yards 4 TD's and 0 INT's.

Moss had 8 catches for 172 yards and 3 TD's - Terrell Owens had 5 catches for 55 yards 0 TD's and tore into his offensive coordinator on the sideline.

Gus was named the NFC offensive player of the week.

Start #2 for Gus - the Vikings beat the Falcons 39-26. Gus throws 2 TD's to Moss.

That was it for the Gus Frerotte show. He throw 5 TD passes to Moss in his only two Viking Starts - the offense averaged 37 points - they handily won both games - and back to the bench so Duante could lead them to 7 losses in the final 11 weeks of the season and they missed the playoffs.

Jeff George made the pro bowl, won a playoff game, and had that Viking offense going like a machine - Gus Frerotte looked like Dan Marino in his prime - and all Duante could do is put up huge stats but lose close game shootout after close game shootout with his head.

Matt Cassel is a better QB right now than Duante ever was.
Frerotte has completed 54.2 percent of his passes during his career for 19,134 yards and a 74.3 quarterback rating. He's 37-44-1 as a starter.

Cool.

Here he is in the two games he started with Moss - and the only two games I've ever seen him play in as it is.

And off he went to the bench when Duante came back to lead the team to 7 losses in the final 11 games. Losing shoot out after shoot out with dumb mistakes and game management.

Don't play stupid with me Mortimer.

The 1998 Vikings and the 2007 Patriots were clearly the two best offensive NFL teams I've ever seen in my lifetime.

In case anyone forgets - The 15-1 '98 Vikings were 13 point favorites in the NFC Championship game over the 14-2 Falcons.

In the greatest choke in the history of man kind - their field goal kicker, who had made 122 straight kicks, had a chance to ice the game and put them up by 10 with 2 minutes to go.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8zx39b2Ny0

Painful as it is to watch - football is a team game. The Vikings defense gave up 500 yards on defense and their field goal kicker who had made 122 straight kicks missed a chip shot.

Randy Moss was not asked to play defense - and Randy Moss was not asked to kick field goals. That Viking team was something like a 3-to-10 favorite to win the Super Bowl at the start of the playoffs.

The 2nd biggest choke was what happened to the Patriots in last years Super Bowl. They had won previous Super Bowls because of a mix of Payton Manning chokes and cheating.

In order for Moss to have not won a Super Bowl so far - he needed two acts of God - a swiss cheese defense that couldn't stop anyone every year he was in Minny - and an offensive line in Oakland that I dare say was the worst collective group in the history of orginazed pro sports.

The defense in New England is there this year. The kicking game is there. Forget about Tom Brady - you can plug in a 7/11 worker to play qb - this is the year!

In a 52 man sport with offensive, defensive, and special team units - it would be idiotic to judge a player by rings won.

Moss is the greatest natural athlete I've ever seen. He's a natural athlete with a real human build in an era where guys like T.O. look like Robo Cop with these builds that defy nature.

Plus, he's twice been to jail before he ever played a snap of college football and he's from W Va - which is a combination that almost qualifys him for sainthood in my eyes.

It allows you to watch whatever games you wish to watch. They have had it atleast since '98.

Here is what is required for me to watch an NFL game with my undivied attention.

* Moss is playing

* The Ravens defense is playing and a Moss offense isn't playing at the same time on another channel.

* Neither Moss nor the Ravens defense is playing - but the outcome of the game will impact a playoff spot for Moss or the Ravens.

* It's a Super Bowl or confrence championship game I find hard not to watch. Such as the NE VS Indy games.

Other than that - nothing.

But, I can guarantee Marino would give up all of his accolades, trophies, etc for that ring that Dilfer has. Maybe Moss is different. Maybe he's okay with being a really good reciever, with a bad reputation that was apart of 2 badly choking football teams. Team sports and sports in general are about winning. And by winning I mean winning a championship.

I do agree about the other stuff though. Anyone from West Virginia that can spell their name is okay in my book.

Glad to know my Mom is okay in your book

The Browns announce Phil Dawson as their new starting qb so as to improve the fake touchdown ploy.

I'm sure Moss, being the consumate team player, is loving catching 4 balls for 25 yards while his team gets their collective asses handed to them at home by a team that won one game last year.

LMAO @ Belichick the genius getting beaten by the direct snap for FOUR TOUCHDOWNS. Just makes Mangini and Schottenheimer look worse for being so unoriginal last week. Ronnie Brown is beating the Patriots by himself.

They will get that all straightened out.

This is merely a mild bump in the road.

Hmmm.. Pretty sure they've played from behind nearly all game, and your love has 4 catches for 25 yards. Nice analysis.
