A Reagan blunder that is not talked about much.
Seemed reasonable at the time.

it was a blunder? i thought afganistan beating russia helped us win the cold war? i would think the blunder was in us thinking just because once upon a time we helped afganistan that they would always be on 'our side'-they were on their own side, just like we are. don't forget, once upon a time, iran was an ally, before the ayatollah. and then iraq was our 'ally'. for too long, our foreign policy was based on 'the enemy of our enemy is our friend'. wrong.

The blunder was Bill Clinton not taking Bin Laden when his head was offered to him , TWICE .
Now that Obama is president the terrorists now love us and wouldnt think of hurting us ever again.

WHAT?

It would have been better to put the Russians in the situation we are in right
now. Have the thing drawn out in hindsight. Hell yes it was
a blunder. We gave weapon technology to people that think
women should be treated like farm animals and that democracy
is a farce. What the heck would the Russians get from being
pestered constantly in mountains? They lost the Cold War themselves.
Their system demanded that. The Russian stupidity in Afghanistan
was their own doing. In hindsight I wish they had stayed longer.
We helped them get out way too quickly.

ANd let us not forget letting 200 marines sit in one
big building in Lebanon so they could all get blown
up together. A brilliant move by Reagan.
a show of force

Yes.
Especially now that Bush has successfully
produced about twice as many as there were
before.

This is fun.
Still trying to time the moment I switch back
to the right.

Bush produced terrorists too? Is there anything else to blame him for? And I'm trying to figure out what weapons that were give to Afganistan 30 years ago that were used against us?

Bullsheep and you know it , dude they were always there , biding their time waiting until just the right moment , you cant say that because we retaliated that produced more chaos. How many times had terrorists attacked us before ? Too many starting during the Carter administration and really until now when we starting fighting back ,do they all come to the surface.
I would rather have all my tax dollars spent fighting them than giving it to people who made bad choices , people who managed unwisley and buisness that was done unethically.

I'm reserving my opinion on how well Obama is doing on the economy considering the stimulus just passed last week. I think his closing of Guantanamo and denunciation of torture is a major step in the right direction, and the fact that the unnecessary $2 trillion war that your guy started will end is pretty cool, though I'm not happy with his planned "surge" in Afghanistan. I certainly don't think it's unreasonable or radical to not yet make extreme declarations about his Presidency one way or another.
From what I have been reading, Obama's war on terror may resemble Bush's.

If Obama can end the world after 2 months,
I claim the right to blame George Bush for AIDS.

We trained the Afghans and soon to be
Al Q. They learned well how to fight a war
when out manned and out gunned. It was
a signficant step.
We gave them stinger missles.
While never used against us, they have been used
against India (in their war against terrorism which
we back).

Especially when we retaliate against
terrorists that are not present.

Lets see what kind of training ground
Iraq and Pakistan evolve into.

Am I doing well holding the left?
