Well geez, after steadying and being choked 14 or 15 times for 11 panels of a 12 panel race, horses tend not to fire so hot the last 1/8th.
I had Noble Stella so I thought the ride on Milwaukee was brilliant!

Noone is comparing either day with travers day, thats just you trying to use the strawman tactic to divert away from the original argument.
Derby day, and BC Day are obviously the two biggest days of the year. No question.
Oaks day at Cd is tremendous as well.
But saratoga is not about a day Mr Strawman, its about a meet. You walk through CD on Wednesday after the Derby, and there arent 5 thousand people at the place.
Umm, Revvy boy, would you care to tell us what meet has more grade ones AND grade twos than any meet in the country?
Umm, revvy boy, would you care to tell us what meet has the highest average attendance of any meet in the country?
And would you care to tell us what meet has the highest average handle of any meet in the country?
Now why do you think this is?

And if you think all three are the same, you are kidding yourself. The other two run very cheap claiming races. As low as 5 grand at Keeneland, and 10 grand at Del Mar.
You do not get those at Saratoga.
I might point out, that closing day at Saratoga contained only two claiming races.
Touche!!!
And if you really wanna get into it, and want me to start pulling out facts, lets get to it!!!
Shall we compare Saturday cards at each track this past summer and see who ran more cheaper races than who, and who ran more stakes and allowances. And who has more grade one races? Sounds like fun to me.
the average purses at keeneland are higher than saratoga. that is all i need to know. i do not care about claiming races. many claiming races are better than those awful new york bred races. some of those horses are glorified cheap claimers. those new york horses are terrible.

NO NO not yesterday!!! Milwaukee was overmatched yesterday and had no real shot in my opinion.
It was the ride in her first spa race. Get out your DRF form froom yesterday, the little chart call line said "steadied repeatedly".

LOL, I was wondering why you had her and I missed the race you were talking about, but I see what you mean now!

The killer move for me was my own. Last race of the day this past Sunday I wrote down my picks, but figured I'd quite while I was ahead and didn't bet them lo and behold, I had the tri for $815.00

i know you can not be serious. KY breds won probably 14 of the 15 grade 1's at saratoga. NY breds are not even competitive with KY breds. NY breds are nice animals but they can not compete with the bluebloods from KY. just to let you know fleet indians sire stands in KY just like all the top sires. the farms surrounding keeneland are just another thing that makes keeneland more appealing than saratoga.

I have never been to Saratoga, would love to though. I have been to Belmont Park and in fact saw the last 2 Woodwards with Ghostzapper and Saint Liams wins. I think the racing on the East Coast is steeped with a lot of tradition, I enjoy it immensly, but being from California I appreciate our racing here just as much. I have had the privelidge of watching some of the greatest horses in the world here in my own backyard, from Seattle Slew, Affirmed and Spectacular Bid to John Henry and Cigar. I think anyone who could question the quality or history of West Coast racing is just as stupid or uninformed as anyone knocking East Coast racing, essentially the best horses are usually from Kentucky breeding farms, it's their geographic locations that determine their careers in the long run.

I also have never been to a more beautiful track than Santa Anita, with the snow-capped San Gabriel mountains in the background, and anyone who thinks that Del Mar's atmosphere and ambiance is nothing, doesn't have a heart or doesn't know how to have fun, the view, the weather, the ocean proximity, the nightlife, it;s second to none, and seeing horses working in the ocean mist of the morning is our own version of heaven on earth.

Oh yes!!! All the folks I know go to a track to take in farms. Nothing like walking in horse manure after the last race is over to set your mind at ease.
Sadly in saratoga people have to resort to dreary old Siro's, the Horseshoe Inn, and Brunos. Imagine all those follks drinking and dancing and listening to music when they could be at a farm.
I guess they just don't get it.

The Saratoga experience is like no other in my opinion. And again the Travers cards usually have 2 grade I's, and at least one or two other graded stakes.
the travers experience is great, like no other, but all three of the big tracks, four if you include churchill offer something. the saratoga is better than anything else crowd gets old after awhile. the racing at the three big meets is comparable too. the ny bred races and all the two year old races are not for everyone. i personally do not like them.

you miss the point. they all have something to offer. the keeneland meet in my opinion has better racing than saratoga. the few claimers are better than the constant two year old and new york races. you argument about restaurants is ridiculous. everyone knows del mar has the best surrounding atmosphere. i do not know if it is really worth arguing with a person that think ny bred horses can compete with KY breds. that is crazy.

this is excellent commentary. all the tracks have something to offer. it is silly to say that one track is much better than any other.

I agree that all have something great to offer.
Santa Anita is indeed beautiful. I was there over 20 years ago, but will never forget it.
Keeneland is nice, but kinda like Saratoga without any of the fun.
I hope to see del mar someday.

I havent't even looked at Dle Mar's card tomorrow, I swear. And I will make a a line right now
over/under on cheap claimers or maiden claimers 4 1/2
Now I will go and look.
Well,I don't mind the cheap claiming races at Del Mar nearly as much as the MCL25K races (regardless of Calbred, or open.) I will tell you this though.Given the choice,I will try to wade through those races before I would touch those New York bred slot machine races.Even the NY BRED allowance races. You got that cheap Delta Sea pinballing in form, and beating horses by 5 at 8-1.Those NY Bred Turf races are all insider races.Folks, when they say the races are restricted to New York breds, you're best off to heed the warning, and only bet them if you yourself were bred there.I imagine they are a Godsend for those on the inside getting tipped off when cheap horses pinball into good form, but it really is better left to them. Now you add in the most crazy biased track in America(Saratoga,)and you have a game of BINGO.I am not a huge fan of playing races at either Del Mar,or Saratoga.I DIDN'T PLAY Toga, and played very little at Del Mar this year(still a little pain from BIG JACKSH#T losing the 7th by a nose yesterday, but it was a minor ticket.)The New York racing would be much better to bet on if they had an escape from New York breds P4,but that ain't gunna happen unless it's one of those nice big days.LIKE WHEN GARRETT GOMEZ F'D UP TM BLING,AND COST ME HUGE.Then he poors acid on my wound by saying atleast the horse learned something(even though he kept him intimidated the whole damn way.)Play where you like. For me,New York bred racing is like watching the Prarie Meadows,or the Indiana tracks.

Scuds,
Stop acting like an old hen and give me your thoughts on the Pirates Bounty tomorrow. It would be a feather in your cap if you could provide me the winner.
