After they suspended him, there was a much bigger outcry from other groups such as conservative groups. A&E got about 10x more complaints over the suspension than over the comments Robertson made in the interview. A&E was threatened with boycotts over the suspension. So they decided to reverse their decision.

I think both decisions were about money.

New Hampshire state Rep. David Campbell has apologized for running over some ducks that didn’t get out of the way of his BMW on Dec. 23, saying that the incident was accidental and unintentional.

“I am deeply sorry that I accidentally ran over several wild ducks near the Crowne Plaza last Monday night,” the Nashua Demcorat wrote in a statement provided to the Nashua Telegraph. “This occurred while some people were feeding the ducks in the roadway nearby. I know it greatly upset them, as it did me. In spite of the accusations to the contrary, this was accidental, unintentional and deeply affected me then and now.”

Mr. Murphy said a man got out of the vehicle and “said something to the effect of, ‘the ducks should have moved,’ ” the paper reported.

She lied on her first day on the job — and got caught.

When those conditions didn’t improve, James said, she acted to publicize the plight of Dasani Coates, a 12-year-old homeless girl subsequently spotlighted in a lengthy Times series.

“I was aware of it and had a little bit something to do with it,” James insisted on NY1 Wednesday night, speaking of the Times exposé.

DOH

“I commend the New York Times for highlighting this important issue on their front page but, to be clear, I was not a source behind The New York Times’ feature on Dasani and did not intend to imply so,” James said in a statement.
