That was shortly before I started following racing in N.Y on a daily basis, a friend of mind told me about that story. I remember all the horses he would claim during the week, cheap claimers...move them up and score. At first, I was making a "killing", but when everyone caught on...you paid with the prices. I believe that Oscar passed away at Aqueduct while saddling one of his runners. Isn't it ironic, he died where he was at his best. Those were the days!

I'm sure reinforcements from Cali will be coming in as soon as Hollywood's meet ends and they can be moved and raced in other jurisdictions.
