I thought she looked great on the track, a really nice looking filly. I'm sorry she didn't place for you guys, but Chuck will find her level of competition and I'm sure she'll be a nice horse for you all. It was so exciting watching her run, I can't wait for her next race!

She is fine, there is a couple stakes horses in that race right there and only finished about 15 lengths back, I wouldn't worry about it too much, it isn't like they are going to run her for 10k out of the box.

She will be a grass winner, she looked like she took to it....

Those horses were too much for her today. She was short and chasing some faaaaast fractions.

I wonder how she is going to feel tomorrow. That's when she will be sore.

man.. people at the Days Inn are loud and obnoxious. I didn't sleep at all last night

Default A good start..

Back from dinner with Chuck and Paula (wife).. What a long, fun day..!

Hope all enjoyed this first experience as the Dee Tee Partners, and everyone here really, participated in what I believe was a tremendous accomplishment. In her first start in ALW company; her first start on grass; and first start in 90 days, Sumwon was as over-her-head as thought, and perhaps short for the 8.5 journey.. No matter. Even with a last place effort, the pleasure in bringing together so many people who had never before been involved in horse ownership was overwhelming.

The objective of the Dee Tee Stable was to promote horse ownership and racetrack comraderie, and today was an undeniable success. At least 16 partners were in attendence at Keeneland, and I think they had a great time. And I can see that everyone that followed the day here, whether in DT or not, were equally excited. The kind words from everyone here is greatly appreciated, and I'm sure I speak for Chuck when I say that it's been our pleasure getting this undertaking off the ground. It's really those that inspired the concept and got involved that made it happen. And this was only the next step in the process.

Sumwon exited the race tired, indicating she needed more work yet, but scoped clean and snapped back well after cooling out. This race will do a lot for her fitness, and as mentioned earlier in the thread, will likely run back on Sunday, April 29, Opening Day at Churchill. in a 1 mile (dirt) $50,000 claimer.

More from Chuck later I'm sure.. and from me as well. Back in Florida tomorrow and will catch up soon as I can.

Thanks to all Derby Trailers for making this a wonderful day...

Steve and Chuck you did something special for a lot of people
on this board. The dream of owning a part of a racehorse has become
a reality for all DeeTee stable partners. The owning and watching a
horse you own run is one of the greatest highs in the world. Even
though she finished up last, she came back healthy and sound and
to fight another day thats the main thing.

I'm sorry that she didn't run better and I believe that she was probably just short of fitness today. That is not saying that she was going to make up 15 or so lengths but we may have got her too relaxed in her training and simply have not done enough with her. She seemed very tired afterwards but everything else looks good. The next few days will tell alot about where and when we run her back. If she bounces back ok then we will take a long look at the opening day race at CD. If she takes a little longer to recover we may need to find a different spot. Obviously we were hoping for a little more but we weren't undefeated going in and we did have a good time meeting all the partners which was really what this is about.

Just watched the race replays. She is a big lady. Poor girl got tired, those were some fairly tough early fractions. I did not get to see her enter the gate but her start was not bad even though the 8 horse blew by her. I was scared she would come out harder than that. Speed does not seem to be a problem so thats good.

Wavered a bit on the backstretch also, and poor thing has got to be very tired after that stretch. Glad she cooled out well and it was very exciting reading the excitement of everyone else.

Well get um next time by God.

Easy for me to say. I did not run over a mile today. Hope she is not to sore tomorrow. (I think she may have run the furthest distance wise in that race also).

well i scav i disagree, i think the 15k for straight3 @arlington is the way to go! im not trying to upset any1 at all here just stating my opinion! shes a young filly and you want her to have confidence, she also handled the poly so shed have a advantage over most of the horses here shipping over from hawthorne! i understand you guys paid more than 15k for her but trust me theres no shame at all in running her where she can be competitive and possibly win! also im sure many are worried about getting her claimed, as i said before i can basically guarantee nobody would touch her for 15k here in chicago right now. if she keeps running up over her head and getting it ripped off shell be sour, have no confidence, and maybe running nickel condition races before ya know it come the latter part of the year.

if she were mine(which of course shes not) id throw her right in where i said here and if she wins then rise her up. build her confidence which makes her happy and be competitive and win some races which will make you guys all alot happier! if ya like the grass that much for her, if she can win that 15k claimer here then maybe try the grass@ indiana downs for the a other than! obviously the horse comes first which ive referred to but also remember win lose or draw the bills keep coming every single day in this business...... straw, hay, feed, gallop help, farrier, vet, etc etc etc. again not trying to upset anyone just giving my opinion

Ohmygosh, that was so much FUN!

Granted, I was wandering around in a fog because I haven't slept since yesterday morning (and still haven't, back at work now), but still I do remember meeting Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Tony, Ed, Chris, John, and Bill.

Maybe another Steve?

And Chuck! Chuck rocks

I wish I could meet up with you guys every weekend Can't wait for her next race.
