Probably has clients because she can develop babies. If you can get a cheap 2yo to run and do something significant you can turn a quick profit. Some trainers are better at that than others. Shes done that with most of her decent babies despite the record.

i was waiting for richard dreyfuss to jump into the box with them. start falling all over the place celebrating the win, just like in that movie . it was a nice scene when Tberg won tho, really.

Fair enough. I imagine developing and selling is a big part of training younger horses and not one I'd given much thought to. Good point well taken.

Let's review your DerbyTrail resume...

1 ) With your first post you tried to coerce members here into buying into a horse partnership ( without obtaining the permission of the proprietor of this board ).

2 ) Your second foray involved exposing a personal agenda against a respected member of this industry.

3 ) Your third involved unsubstantiatable slanders against Hall of Fame trainers

Next thing will probably be claiming to be both a horse owner, breeder, and Wall Street executive.

I am not looking to instigate anything -- seriously, I am not. However, Andy's comments . . . LMAO!!!

I think Jamie Sanders and Calvin Borel should go off together and make babies. Raise all of them in Arkansas. A proverbial Night of the Living Dead would go into double digit sequels no doubt.

You resume or job title adds no validity to your opinion and claims. Believe me, your opinions and claims stand on their own . . . very much on their own, LOL.

You must be kidding, right?

You came here with such an obvious, personal agenda -- and if not, then you must have come here to say "Look at me" or something like that.

9k for a Johannesburg out of a decent mare is very cheap indeed. There had to be SOMETHING wrong with him although I can't see what it is. I've never seen him in person, so I can't way whether or not he's crooked. Crooked or not, he seems to be sound. If he wasn't, I doubt he would have handled the number of starts he's had thus yet. He's a gorgeous horse... great looking stride on him. I'd sure love to have him in my barn! (Still think Jamie lucked out with him... it happens sometimes.)

I'd love to have a barn full of them, no question. I give credit to her for picking out a horse like that, snagging him for $9k, bringing him along, etc. However, that is a far stretch from being a "great trainer" and all of the other claims that came along with this. I don't have anything against Jamie Sanders. She's a new, on her own trainer, and I wish her all the best.

However, she is still a 2% trainer, and that more speaks to her current "abilities" and her results than the results of this colt. Let's look at how many others she selected, bought, etc. Let's look at how the rest of those have done. Now, no offense, however, I don't think we have to look too far -- she's won two races all year long.

You have to look at this in the big picture.

Eric
