Default Quality tracks

I totally agree. Colonial Downs has risen from the smoke and ashes to become such a quality track. I love the turf and they have put on such a great show. I like the schedule which includes Mon & Tues eveneings amongst the rest to the weekly racing.

Some great prices too!

FWIW,
My take on those races...
R5: Yours look like the ones. I like Northern Vacation to win this.
R6: Thunder looks good, but I'll be on 1, Where U Found It. Standridge hot and 3rd out here. Also like the 4, Get a Lil In to crash the ticket at odds.
R7: My best of the day is 2, Lake Kerr, but ony at 5-1+. Only 3x winner has been beaten about 150 lengths in last 5 starts but plunges and won his last two 2-turn dirt routes by open. Not for the faint of heart!
R8: I like 8, Premiere Event in this. Going to get a good and clear trip right off the speed.
R9: I'm a huge Mario Morales fan and the 5, Pura Suerte, fits his winning profile. Finally puts two races together, worked since her last on 6/16 and the last is better than looks as she missed third by only a nose plus a head. Probably needs another but I'm willing to find out at 8-1+.

good luck

Default Belmont: 6/28 (r5-9)

Weather continues to threaten turf racing on the East Coast making scratches a problem. In the meantime, we continue to scuffle a bit and lost the best opportunity at a big Calder trifecta score Tuesday via a scratch...

Back to Belmont Wednesday with the 6th and 9th scheduled for the lawn. Thursday, the 5th, 6th and 7th are all meant for sod sprinting, and another day of rain will destroy that afternoon as well... Better now though than during Toga!

SELECTIONS: Belmont Park, R5-9 (Grand Slam, Late P4, P3's, Late DD)

R5: Clm/N1Y, F&M-4+, 1m

1. #5 Jolie's Leader 7-2: Walder tabs Johhny V; 33% together '05
2. #1 Fidget 5-2: Contessa bay veteran won't mind mud much
A. #7 Snitch 3-1: Levine-Luzzi 4yo another OK with wet
B. #3 Tax the Queen 9-2: Paranack helmsman hitting stride now

R6: MSW-NYB, 3+, 8.5f-T

1. #6 Strikeuptheblues 3-1: Trying again with just miss last gelding
2. #10 Roscommon Express 5-2: Johnny V. for father-in-law Leo
A. #1 Academy Royale 8-1: Pugh adds Lasix to Royal Academy bay
B. #7 Doctor D. Nicholas 8-1: Dutrow has intriguing record with Samyn

OFF TURF: 14-10-2-3

R7: S. H'cap, 4+, 8.5f

1. #3 Tactical Gold 5-2: Tony Dutrow gelding hot; OK with off going

A. #7 Diligent Gambler 3-1: O-fer annum, but 1st of '06 here for BEL lover
B. #5 Lieutenant Danz 4-1: Tailing off from strong winter form?

R8: OC/N1X, 3+, 1m

1. #7 Santa's Gold 12-1: It's Christmas in June!
2. #4 Organizer 5-2: Best results have come in precip
A. #6 Dr. Pleasure 3-1: Highly regarded Ward-Oxley bay returns
B. #3 Salty and Saintly 5-1: Graduated on sealed slop

R9: Clm, F&M-3+, 1,-T

2. #6 Interpretation 5-2: Another that can go either surface
A. #8 Sky Island 15-1: Pricey invader scored on good Philly strip; OK sod

OFF TURF: 1-6-8-12

$3 Grand Slam:

Another rough outing Wednesday as we're officially in a tailspin... While scratches and off the turf moves are contributing factors, we just don't seem to be "seeing" it all that well right now...

Nothing to do but press forward though, and a break in the weather, at the noon hour, has Belmont fast on the main and good on the lawn...

2. #8 Nina Marie 8-1

I think right now is probably the best time to give you props for picking the 39/1 (or something like that) on the turf at the Meadowlands (Monday a week ago.)

Thanks Scuds.. Things went south right quick after that... Been very tough with a brutal travel schedule and the uncertain fields/surfaces/conditions day after day...

Good start just now today though having tabbed the cold triple in the Belmont 5th.. Just official.. $77.50..
