It will almost surely be Prado, Gomez, or Justin Dew.

It is Edgar Prado according to my father's trainer at Belmont.

Dutrow commented on the ride by Edgar Prado aboard Riley Tucker in the Preakness. Prado, who often rides for Dutrow, rode Riley Tucker aggressively to keep Big Brown down on the rail as the field entered the backstretch. After a half-mile was run, Desormeaux was able to ease back and come outside of Riley Tucker and the pacesetting Gayego. Riley Tucker finished last.

“It looked like (Prado) was just trying to keep our horse in a box, and not out to get the best finish out of his horse,” said Dutrow, who remarked he received a phone call from Riley Tucker’s owner, Ahmed Zayat, who told him he was upset by Prado’s ride. “It looked like he just did something to keep our horse in behind his horse, and he had to go out of his way to do it.”

"I got paid to win the race, not to pay favors," Prado said in a phone interview between races at Belmont Park.

Prado, a Hall of Fame jockey, was set to ride Big Brown in the horse's career debut in September but was injured two races beforehand. Big Brown's owners later chose Kent Desormeaux over Prado for his 3-year-old season.

"Edgar being with us so much, it looks like he did something just to keep our horse in behind the other horse," Dutrow said. "He had to go way out of his way to do it. So we're not real happy about that, either."

From ESPN.com and Bloodhorse. I found it interesting.

Let me get this straight, Rick Dutrow, the trainer who ran two rabbits to physically harrass an opponent, is complaining because another rider rode his horse in a manner to possibly maximize his chances against a Dutrow trained runner? That's funny.

What Dutrow is really saying is that the rules mean absolutely nothing to him as he thinks any rider in a race that also rides for him should always be thinking about the best interest of Dutrow's runner(s) and not his own. There's something the stewards SHOULD ( but won't ) find very interesting.

Sometimes it helps to think about all the implications of what you say. I doubt that Dutrow really meant to imply the above, per se, but it is what he is saying....at least tangentally.

Dutrow should have left out his relationship with Prado, and pointed out ( accurately ) that Riley Tucker seemed to intentionally put him in tight. The fact that he doesn't like it because Edgar rides for him implies something very different.

They use prado sometimes and his agent mentioned it. It is a partnership so the trainer doesn't work for my father just his partnership. They go see the horses on Saturday morning and that is just what they told him.

It's funny that you mention that, of all the things that Dutrow has done in the past, that's the only one that really irked me (and I think I'm in the minority on here that thinks Dutrow is actually a good horseman and not all of his success is due to illicit activity). Perhaps it's linked to my fandom of Commentator and utter distaste for Saint Liam, but if he was "so confident in his horse" like he always said he was in SL, what was the need to run not one but TWO rabbits???

I have no idea, however, Dutrow trains horses for Zayat. They know each other. He is a hands on, active owner. I don't see it out of the ordinary that he calls.

I don't know if it does or doesn't. The backstretch is a small world, nothing surprises me, LOL.
