The tax "plan" is completely unthoughtout and will never pass through the House. Anytime earning caps are put in place it retards growth. Much easier for the small business to shut it's doors on on Thanksgiving for the balance of the year and avoid the tax man, than employ people at a loss. Then we get to watch millions go unemployed for 6 weeks until they open shop again. And God forbid they string together a few decent quarters. Maybe we can startcelebrating Christmas on Halloween while they still have a few bucks in their pockets. Companies encouraged to "not make money" have a tendancy to do so.
The good news is that there isn't a prayer that anything remotely resembling this tax bill see light.

Then, why is it that when the last two Republican Presidents got into office the national debt skyrocketed? This isn't a slam against Bush and Reagan as much as it just a question. Is the answer simply Cold War spending(Reagan) and 9/11, Iraq, economy(Bush) ?
at this point, i think it's a falsehood that either party doesn't believe in big govt. too many now look at the party and want to know what it's done for them. then there's the states having shuffled most of their responsibilities onto the feds as well.
i'm sure it's a variety of factors--and of course the more we make as a country, the more they spend. everyone, here and abroad looks at this country as being one big piggy bank for them to dip into.
i forget tho, which candidate is supposed to do less damage to the deficit in the years to come. obama's supposed tax cuts are higher than those of mccain, but i think obama has also asked for more spending-supposedly cap gains and other increases make up the difference.

I didn't want to get swept in a playoff series, and Furcal is my favorite player(so it was great seeing him wake-up.) There's no way they can win any playoff series without him playing well. Home run was a cookie pitch, but the 1st hit he got was on a decent pitch. I'd love to beat Billygoat up some with a whiffleball bat, but (last I heard) they want to try that slot machine again on Wednesday Night. What a headcase.

Obama won't have Annie Oakley (and the Alaskan White Eskimo) in his ear. That's a big plus. They belong back there at home killing animals, and firing those that refuse their commands. There is a place for them.

He's told everyone what he wants to do. So, I don't know why you want us to repeat what he has already said. There are many, many things he has said he wants to do(that I'd like to see get done.) It's not up entirely up to him. The senate and the House have their say-so. The problem you often have in discussions is you have people with totally different interests trying to exchange ideas, and it doesn't work. I can mention (until I am blue in the face) that there are 2 sick and old people to replace on the Supreme Court. That's very important to me, but it's not very important to some. However, it's the one sure thing that he will be able to do, and yes, I think America will be better off with his appointments. Is this guy anything special? I'm not looking for special. I'm looking for the person who can keep the Republican from getting in. It has nothing to do with him being a Democrat. It has nothing to do with anything except keeping a Republican the f out.

Then lets not pull links from opinionated third party websites with an agenda. Lets just stick to the facts and the stats. Deal?

For those of you who slept through World History 101 here is a
condensed version.

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and
would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were:
1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel.
The wheel was invented to get man to the beer, and the beer to
the man.
These facts formed the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct
subgroups:
1. Liberals
2. Conservatives.
Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the
beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were
invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to
be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were
formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at
night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as
the Conservative movement.

Other men wh o were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned
to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the
sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the

beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The
rest became known as girlie-men.

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication
of cats, the invention of group therapy and group hugs, the evolution of the
Hollywood actor, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide
all the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years, Conservatives came to be symbolized by the
largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant.

Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most
prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their
beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare.

Another interesting evolutionary side note: most liberal women
have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal
injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are
liberals.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still
provide for their women.

Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, firemen,
lumberjacks, construction workers, medical doctors, police officers, corporate
executives, athletes, golfers, and generally anyone who works productively.
Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a
living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the
producers and decide what to do with the production.

Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans.
That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were
coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a
business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history.

It should be noted that a liberal may have a momentary urge to
angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.

A conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the
absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other
true believers.
