the game that blanton started against la was blown by broxton in the 9th , he stinks too in big spots , does rivera have a better chance of winning that game with a lead in the 9th then broxton , what do you think

the 2 wins in cloroado (1 start with lee) had the rockies closer - street blow both games , does rivera blow those games???

my opinion is that the yanks have better starting ptiching than the phillies and while anything can happen in a 7 game series , i think pedro gets shelled tonight , i think hamels gets shelled in game 3 and i think blanton has no chance in a game 4 ....... burnett , petitie could get shelled , gaudin will get shelled , so we could be at 2-2 heading into game 5 or 3-1 yanks heading into game 5 , even if lee wins game 5 , we still have the edge in 6 +7
uh Gales it isnt a 7 game series anymore. It is a 3 game series for the yankees. If they lose tonight it is a 2 game series. If they are down 0-3 it is a 1 game series.

The thing you have to worry about with Burnett is that he is a high WHIP guy. High WHIP guys can get away with it against bad teams as they can get out weak hitters who don't take advantage of the men on base. Against better hitting teams high WHIP guys tend to give up more runs. This is pretty evident with Burnett who got killed this year by Boston, Philly, and Baltimore while dominating KC, Seattle, Florida, and the Mets. If Burnett can't control his WHIP and puts men on base the Phillies will take advantage.

good point. The way the umps call the game tonight will be a factor. If they squeeze the zone, it will be 9-7.

Cool

You yankee fans think its all about you. Give the phillies credit! They are the defending champs. They have won on the road all season, they have four hitters who have hit over 30 home runs and have rollins and victorino who get on before their monster hitters. Pitching has been great even with hamels not being hamels. You should realize pedro has been here before and is looking forward to playing the yankees. Did you see how he pitched against the dodgers? Not to mention they never give up. They battle to the last strike and have come from behind all season. So yankee boy wake to reality your team is about to lose to a real champ! Who may become a dynasty in the making. Enjoy a roid and all those chumps that money can buy! Get ready to cry like steinbrenner!

Its more important how Burnett pitches, and for how long Burnett lasts. Good grief, your team is the one who lost game 1 and needs this game. Your bullpen sucks right now minus the Sandman. For the Yankees to win this game, they need to be focused on shutting down the 2 guys that killed you last night rather than worry about some guy named Pedro...For one moment, forget about his history and all his Cy Youngs. Hes just a pitcher trying to give his team a chance to win. You're looking way too far into this.

yeah, i mean he's only started in about 35,849 games against AL teams, and won 3 AL Cy Young awards, so he for sure wont know what he's up against!

Yeah, but how many of those games came with it south of 47 degrees on the thermometer?

I'm finding it funny that Pedro's ability to win this game against his "daddy" is being questioned because of the weather.
