Joey will love this...

IMO the key to the series is the refs. That's right i said it! Not that there is some secret plot against one of the teams but how the series is called will determine the winner.

If the refs let Artest punkout Pierce and beat him up, the Lakers will have a big advantage. If Artest gets in foul trouble Boston will have a big advantage at SF as Odom cant effectively check Pierce and LA doesnt really have any other options. Pierce vs Artest SHOULD be a big Boston advantage as Artest is a negative on the offensive end which allows Pierce to help Ray Allen with Kobe. But too often in the playoffs pierce has disappeared or been coaxed into poor, disinterested offensive performances.

Rondo needs to take advantage of the Lakers PG's and create offense like he did in the Cleveland series when he held a similar speed advantage. He must hit open shots that they will surely be offering him as they sag off to try to minimize his penetration. The lakers PG's need to likewise hit open shots created for them by Kobe and Gasol and keep the turnovers to a minimum. They are going to lose this matchup but have to keep Rondo from going off. I would also be surprised if we didnt see LA press Tony Allen when Rondo is out of the game. With Bynum and Gasol guarding the basket, they can afford to take chances, especially with Allen who is shaky as a PG.

Ray Allen needs to hit open threes, make Kobe chase him and prevent him from gambling on defense and simply try to contain Kobe defensively. While I'm sure RA will be receiving plenty of help it is a given that Kobe is going to get his points. But Allen must make him earn them and you would think Rasheed or Perkins will give Kobe at least one hard foul a game to try to keep him shooting contested jumpers. I know he still makes them but Kobe penetrating puts a lot of stress on the slow footed frontcourt of Boston and will cause them to get in foul trouble which is something they cannot afford.

This will be the toughest matchup in the playoffs for Gasol as KG is big, strong and long just like Gasol who has been a terrible matchup problem for OKC, Utah and Phoenix. While KG isnt the 2008 KG, with the time between games he should be able to at least contain Gasol and make him disappear at times. The old Wallace would do fine with Gasol though i just have no idea what you are getting out of him now. Gasol must stay out of foul trouble as with Bynum playing hurt his absence would mean a big edge on the boards for Boston.

Bynum vs Perkins is really a tossup with the knee issue. Perkins must aviod a stupid technical because Big Baby isnt long enough to defend even a wounded Bynum, though on the other end he may take him away from the basket by facing up from 15 feet. Bynum must stop Rondo from getting to the rim. I wouldnt be shocked to see him take a hard foul against Rondo early in the series.

Both teams dont have much help on the benches though the subs will surely come into play at least one game due to unforseen foul trouble. Lamar odom needs to have a big series espcially if Bynum's minutes are limited. Tony Allen must be effective enough at PG to give Rondo some rest and also help guard on Kobe on the defensive side.

Douchebag cornball nutslurping lames aside, it was the Lakers' night tonight. Celts looked similar to how they did in Game 1 against the Cavs. See ya Sunday.

Celtics only lead was 2-0 at the start of the game, then it was all LAkers an Lakers should of neVer let them win the 4Quarter but it doesn't matter Lakers rule..

I smell a sweep, but i hope that Boston show up so it wont be such a slaughter
i want to see 6games not 4 but the way Kobe is playing whoaaaaaaaa

He's FOCUS thinking about the 4-1 in 2k8 so 4-0 in 2k10 is in the Picture...

Just kill me already. Kobe already impersonating Jordan, as if Jordan ever would've gotten eliminated in the Finals by 39 points. We remember that nigga, nobody forgot, no matter how many photo ops you stage with your daughters. See ya Sunday. The Celtics played as bad as they could've played. If they learn how to box out, this **** is over in 5.

I never thought that I would ever hear these words come out of my mouth (being from NY). But after the last 2 posts,
I hope the Celtics run them right off the F'n court.
