They're nice names (I was amazed Dirty Laundry and Wise Guy were free), but unfortunately not all of them are available (Lost Cause, Blast Off, Ransom were among those taken). The Jockey Club name registry is a really great tool to rule unavailable names out or even give you ideas for ones to try. http://www.registry.jockeyclub.com/r...ient.URLtoken# Great ideas so far.

The site doesn't necessarily tell you they won't ax it for other reasons like inappropriateness, bad taste, corporate ownership, etc because that part's somewhat subjective, but it'll help. I heard they put a stop to Sally Hemmings (named after the slave of Thomas Jefferson) for bad taste, but they apparently find Bodacious Tatas and Isitingood to be acceptable. I don't pretend to understand the logic. If you go to the main JC registration site, you can see a list of recently released names that are totally up for grabs. Not all of them are gems.

Rock of the Bay

I did a search of the thread and it didn't pull that up, so I hope it's not a repeat. I just got the song "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" stuck in my head, thought I'd do a little play on words with the title and Rockport Harbor.

It's addictive, fair warning. You start naming hypothetical horses in your head and checking to see if that name's available. I think we're gonna have to get more horses to make use of the names everyone's coming up with.
