Same short end of the photo here. "Congratulations" to Joel Rosario who decides to speed duel with the cheap rail horse and John Velazquez in 47.15 for the opening half mile with a full circuit to go. Put up a 48 or 49+ half as in every other race you've run on the engine and we have a different story.

Incredible that there is absolutely no sense of slow, fast, or anything. In the post race, expect Rosario to say that the horse was overly headstrong and he could not control him on the opening turn.

The best thing that happened to Rajiv Maragh in that race was missing the break with Main Sequence.

I have no idea why he made that move when he did, his head has been up his azz for most of this meet. That is likely going to cost me a fortune.

I can't believe that I am betting on the Anchor, but the 8 has a live look against these.

Watching the replay of the Sword Dancer, I am very impressed with Main Sequence as this gelding closed at least five lengths into a closing panel of 23+ seconds. I wonder if the front speed was conserved if it would have even mattered?

Braver man than I, Gunga Din. Good luck and LOL. With a little effort, the "Anchor" could be a nickname that sticks with Lanerie.

The only thing Nakatani should be objecting to is the premature move he just made.

Early pace was legit. Winner was much the best.

Probably not. I think the top 2 ran very well.
