so if i don't believe in god i should like poly? or i shouldn't? not sure that it would matter one way or the other!!
after all, intelligent design would mean horses were created....sure doesn't look like eohippus out there to me!! where'd all the toes go?

lol just kidding a bit, i'm not trying to stir a darwin/evolution/creator/intelligent design discussion.

when you have tracks such as oaklawn and churchill, seems the others could have found a way to have a safe dirt track...or just go with turf, both all natural surfaces.

also, regarding breeding...if that bubble bursts a LOT of people are going to be out of business. a ton of them. you think coolmore and the sheik are bad for business now?? just wait til only the few are left, while the many are left wondering what the heck happened to their farms.

my 'you' above is directed to anyone who thinks that a few incredibly wealthy people are bad for the sport, not directed at cunningham....

The difference here is that I have never been arrogantor stupid enough to question your knowledge on science topics.
And as far as inferiority complexes go, you should see how angry you get when you can't argue something as intelligently as you argue your field, and show us so by often attempting to divert any argument into the scientific field where you feel more secure and knowledgable.
And what was my SPECIFIC arguement AGAINST YOUR SPECIFIC KNOWLEGE OF POLYTRACK? Not of horse racing in general. Cmon man. Im a little more with it than that. Dont side issue me, and then get upset when I do the same. You did it again. You use the same complaint of my questioning and your own accomplished exactly the same thing. Stop with it. Its old and it does not wash with me. Come out straight and you will have no problems with me.

Zieg you are going to scare Patrick if you keep trying to use examples and facts that are outside his field of expertise.
Don't go using reasons like the possible financial disaster of the game to refute the religious reasons that horses should run on poly.

Pat I'm always straight with you and don't have any problems with you.
But you really don't have any idea how you sound trying to lecture people about a business that they know. Like i said, the day I lecture you about science, you can call me a ****ing idiot and I will deserve it and accept it without complaint.

Yeah I can't wait until all of the tracks have poly and the sheikhs and coolmore and a few of the old bluebloods are left to dodge each other.

Can you say return of the match race? 4 horse Grade 1's?

OK, since you seem to keep bringing up non-horse racing industry issues are you trying to make it easier for me to understand your point? You have wavered so far off what we were discussing earlier, from the high class name calling to natural disasters/warfare angles that I have no idea where you are going with this in relation to Polytrack and the Horse racing industry??

Ok, ok, I retract my statement about Cali and apologize for you taking the lighthearted jab very seriously.
But I have to tell you, based upon your insistence that Joel and others should see tragedy and avoid it, if you live near the fault line out there and an earthquake devestates the place, I ain't donating no money to a relief fund for iq challenged folks who should have known better than to live in a state with a major fault line and a history of earthquakes.
That sound logical to you?

i just really feel that if turfway and other tracks can't run in the middle of winter due to safety, they shouldn't run then!! obviously certain sports aren't made for certain times of the year. winter racing belongs in the deep south, not in places that have hard freezes.

dirt isn't the problem, the overall handling of the sport and it's athletes is the problem. kyroses mentioned breeding and drug practices above--she's right!! what about all the surgically corrected foals? what about the unsound horses being bred because they're fast, but made of glass? what about bleeders?? bute now being allowed everywhere?? those are the problems, not dirt!!

Are you comparing the New Coke to Polytrack? God bless it man. Find something new. You are chasing your tail. You just constantly reinforce my assertation that you change arguements.

What about your article with sources on the greater % of injuries on Polytrack? That was much more in line with the original post than all your crazy offshoots. Dont always fall back on that crap I know more about the industry. This was not what was originally argued. quit changing paths. Its boring. I have never argued about your overall knowlege of the industry. Never. Thats why I read this board.

Pillow, maybe 4 starters but there will be a 3 horse betting interest and only two total betting interests. Guess you nail the exacta each time by boxing it.

I think the whole argument is some people see this as a tragedy and others see it as an opportunity for the industry to grow. Those are two factors that are arguable, but no fact will be known for years to come.
