Well some arguments make sense, but my point is that Belmont or CD offer more to the racing fans than the smaller tracks. I dont think event like BCC increase fan base.

How many juvy horses are the same after running the BC Juv races in general. I could name a slew of horses in last years that didn't come back...Stevie Wonder boy? Action this day? To use Vindication as an example is insane

Action This Day still ran, he just wasn't very good to begin with and he didn't run last year...

I remember reading quote after quote about trainers fretting, because they had to send the horses longer...

Well, that's their fault. Breeders' Cup Limited polled around 30 (?? number may be wrong) of the top trainers in the country and the vast majority said they'd rather run the 9 poles than 8 for the Juvy races. They were asked and the BC gave them what they wanted at Arlington. I remember this event vividly because I was very surprised when I read the headline article on bloodhorse.com that day in '02.

I have not been to either, but I have WAY more complaints over Belmont hosting the Breeders' Cup than Arlington. In my opinion, if New York wants to host the Cup again, they should spruce up Aqueduct into a nice facility and have it there. That's not realistic, though. For starters, the biggest 9 furlong Distaff race of the year should NOT be run around ONE turn and the Classic should not START on a turn. It's fine for the JCGC and other preps, but not for the America's championship day.

I actually agree - the Juvie should not be around two turns. For decades, we managed to produce classic horses in this country without racing 2yos around 2 turns - the Futurity, then the Champagne were testing grounds for the best 2yos. The Remsen, the Breeders Futurity, the Kentucky Jockey Club S, Pimlico-Laurel Futurity were all one-turn races. Affirmed had a lengthy career at 2 but never ran around two turns. It is the torque on immature joints that causes the mischief, in my judgment. And they keep making 2yo races longer and moving two-turn races up to August!! Insane.

Why don't they just rebuild the 10f chute they used to have, crossing the training track? They dug it up because the NTRA said that the fans wanted to see the start. Well, with current technology, everybody can get a view of the start via television, which many of them watch the whole way around, anyway.
