Tom, spoil yourself for at least three weeks. Let yourself be waited upon, cooked for, and sleep every moment you can get. Take all the pain meds allowed, you'll heal faster. You may be ready to go, but your body gets to recover from a major surgery. Glad you're okay!

While this was my first appearance at a hospital ever, lets hope that it is my last.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes, it is greatly appreciated.

FYI, if anyone is trying to call me, the hospital lost my cell phone, my IPOD and my favorite belt.
we're glad you are home! take care of Yourself and don't push it.

I just read all the well wishes, really want to to thank everyone again. It is an amazing feeling to come back and read the comments and well wishes. Last night was the first night that I actually got some sleep but feeling pretty disoriented this morning, still catching my bearing. Think it might have to do with all the dilutad(?) that I was given to try and control the pain (up to 1.5mg every hour at one point and I was started at .5mg) Without a doubt, it was the most traumatic situation of my life and hopefully there is nothing more becuase not sure I can handle it. Timeline is on the way

Sorry it took so long to post my "Get well, best wishes". My wife is having her Gall Bladder removed on Oct. 15th. Any advice? I've already told her she has to arrange help for the 24-25 (BC and all).

Hey Scav...glad you pulled through...you should feel fine in no time...a friend of mine had her GB removed and felt normal after 2 or 3 days...don't be fooled though, even though you feel good DO NOT lift anything otherwise you'll open up...

Good Luck on the recovery...

Wait, they lost not only his electronics, but his keen fashion sense? If I were Scav, I'd sure as shootin' try to keep out of the hospital for the foreseeable future.

Good to have you back, Scavs.

It's not just a GPS Matt but has the ability to screen all waitress urges he might have from this point on. An electrical current is sent south of his scar to neuter any desire for bimbettes under the age of ........ ? I leave the last part to everyones imagination!!

Great to have you back here Tom. Hope you recover swiftly and uneventfully.

Default Timeline

Groggy but what the hell, need to laugh some.

August 31th and September 8th - self induce vomiting to ease pressure within stomach area, feel ok afterwards
September 14th - 10pm - Try to go to sleep early becuase of 7am flight out of O'Hare to Lexington
September 15th - Midnight - Try to self induce vomiting again and getting nothing in return, pain increasing
September 15th - 2am - Try and drive self to closest emergency room (which I looked up on internet) but there wasn't an emergency room where I went). Got home
September 15th - 2:30am - Call 911 because can't handle pain anymore
September 15th - 2:45am - Ambulance arrives, vitals are ok except heart rate and blood pressure
September 15th - 2:55am - Get to hospital and get shot of diluated, start to calm down, parents arrive
September 15th - 3:45am - Get 2nd shot because first shot didn't do anything
September 15th - 6am - Doctor finally comes to observe me, pain has subsided and feel normal
September 15th - 6:05am - Dad starting to break Indy 500 record to get me from hospital to home to airport for 7:26am departure flight
September 15th - 7:25am - Arrive at O'Hare, two bitch helpers deny me any opportunty to get on plane, as it was delayed by 20 minutes because of Flood 2008
September 15th - 7:35am - Find tall dude and ask him for help, he hears situation, looks up some stuff on computer, calls one of his girls, and then tells me "have a good time" Scav happy
September 15th - 7:45am - get through security and start running through as I was in gate F which is on ass end of O'Hare, not close
September 15th - 7:52am - Arrive at gate and they haven't even boarded yet, hilarious bitch helpers had no clue and didn't even bother helping out a customer
September 15th - 8:08am - Take off and try and get 45 minutes of shut eye, not really working
September 15th - 10am - Arrive at Bluegrass Airport, what a scene
September 15th - 10:15am - Find Chuck, I know I am looking forward to learning all day
September 15th - 10:30am - Bid on first horse, get smoked, but got to see a big go through and the process, pretty hilarious
September 15th - 11am - Out back and observing all these horse, amazing. See everyone within the industry that you can think of, but Headley, Lucas, and Baffert very prominent
September 15th - 5pm - Call it a day at least from the sale perspective, head to Chuck's new farm
September 15th - 5:30pm - HOLY COW what an amazing area, Chuck rolls up and there is just more land that I have ever seen in my lifetime, the barns are amazing and the horses are just awesome. we get out of car and 3 new yearlings are already there along with. Here comes Sgt Bethani (who is NOTHING like you would think but a down ass chick) and I ask 'Can I walk a horse" and I get my wish and get to walk two horses down a 90 degree hill to their paddock for the night, was unbelievable as they both listening to me, one of them was Sox a Fire and can't remember the other one.
September 15th 5:45pm - Go back down hill to observe the yearlings again. The 1st Mizzen Mast and theatrical get their own and the Smarty and Roman Ruler need to friend training, Roman smoked the smarty for sniffing the wrong area and gave him an old fashion kick, it was awesome to see. They start running the fences and stopping, the yearlings were surprisingly friendly, Cool Clue tries to run the place, staring down the RR and Smarty, and then going to stare down at Theatrical.
September 15th 8pm - Time to pass out as havent had any sleep, tell Chuck I am sorry if he wanted to party because wife was out of town but this guy can't hang like he used to (48 hours of no sleep used to be nothing).

If anyone questions the amount of hard work that Chuck or any other of these trainers do, they are really mistaken, granted I was running on sleep deprivation and pending ridiculous surgerys so my body was jacked up, but I was cashed by 2pm down there, and he went at it from 6am to 10pm, and then did it again the following day, I want nothing to do with that

September 16th - 5:45am - Wake up and go to bathroom, urine is completely brown, thought it might be narcotics from night before, feel good. Get ready to go to training center

More to come, have to get up and walk.......
