The only thing bigger than the grin on his face was the drink in his hand all day.

My question now, though, is how much longer are the crutches going to be with him? Are they going to be a permanent prop?
I heard he did pretty well up here without running one single horse

Well maybe it was, I watched but didnt pay all that much attention. Its really hard to get excited about the polycrap when you have Saratoga & now Belmont going on. I miss the California dirt. It once was really fun.

If you watch the head on replay, he was clearly cross firing.

He looked great. The crowd went wild and just loved him. I know that alot of people have given them crap for taking him to Ruidoso, but it he is sort of like Funny Cide was to New Yorkers and Smarty Jones was to Philadelphia. New Mexico finally feels like they are a part of something, regardless of the fact that he wasn't a New Mexico bred or anything like that. They were in the spotlight and it really makes the state proud.

It is still Quarter Horse country, no doubt about it. If anyone has been out to the All American they know it. There is something very special about Ruidoso on Labor Day weekend. I have been to alot of very big events, and the All American ranks right up there with them in its own, very special sort of way.

Article says it was a record crowd on Monday, and I am not surprised. It was packed, and that was with a little rain all day long.

I do too always loved the SA Big Cap the HGC and the Pac Classic, those crazy sprints. Now I can careless about them, it is a shame.
