If it's not, could we please let them win first before we coronate them?

Lackey is probably tearing that locker room to shreds.

That 1st pitch from Oliver was quite special. That is the 1st post season hit Tex has ever had with men in scoring position. Isn't that right? He's finally done it.

Thats what happens when you need 4 outs in an inning

I can't believe that Girardi is the patient one for going to the pen tonight. After the leadoff hit for Mathis I thought for sure that Burnett was coming out.
For the record, I thought that Lackey deserved to pitch to at least Texieria. (I know total 2nd guess).

I think it's worse to force someone to get 4 outs than it is to keep someone from seeing another pitch. Ethier was called out in the top of the 9th in game 4. That was not a strike, but I don't think it was nearly as bad as that Lackey strike not being called.

Lackey was tiring. If he'd of gotten that strike, then it's not an issue. I've seen him lose his concentration when he's both angry n' tired. It gets ugly, and that's why Scioscia got him out of there. That's a choke pitch from Oliver. I think it's the right move, but people need to pitch. Lackey usually tires in the 6th, or 7th.
