You probably should have started with the next two posts and then told us how it happens here.

When you said "Yeah, that's never happened in the United States, women getting attacked and raped after football celebrations, during street parades/parties, etc."
I took that as it's so common here why even mention it there.

You know because in America it happens at more than just protests. Coupled with glad she'll be OK? That is despicable!

BTW A Bright Side Note for you: This is what the GOP would call 'forcible rape' and thank the lord she'd be exempt from the right to life christians and be afforded a Federal funded abortion provided she was under that care plan.

I figured that mignt be one of your worries.

You want to continue to argue things you clearly know, because you've been told multiple times I didn't mean?

And you just choose to totally ignore the rest of my post?

Guess I'll just repeat it for you. Maybe you didn't read it?

Let's put this in really clear terms, Dell, so you won't continue to misunderstand and falsely represent what I think about this:

The attack on Lara Logan was terrible, horrific, and her attacker should suffer five times what she did, then be tortured to death. Yes, I'm very glad she'll be okay, in that the possibilities and closeness of that call were horrible, that she was rescued by Egyptians (who were probably Muslim!) and soldiers (who were probably Muslims, too!)

The attack is not representative of Egyptians, or Muslims, or Muslim Egyptians, or Christian Egyptians, or of democracy - it is representative of violent attackers. Violent attackers exist in democracy, too. The referral to Egyptians celebrating democracy by beating and rape was a despicable slam on all Egyptians.

Got it now, Dell? Now, if you want to continue to talk about this, tell me what you think about this op-ed. I posted it early in the thread. It's titled, "What not to say about Lara Logan".

Much better but I think you have to be a salon premier member or something? Would definately read it. A book called Big Girls Don't Cry was a popup though.

What do you think of the Muslim Brotherhood founder? "Qaradawi advocates establishing a "United Muslim Nations" as a contemporary form of the caliphate and the only alternative to the hegemony of the West. He hates Israel and would love to take up arms himself. In one of his sermons, he asked God "to kill the Jewish Zionists, every last one of them."

In January 2009, he said: "Throughout history, Allah has imposed upon the [Jews] people who would punish them for their corruption. The last punishment was carried out by [Adolf] Hitler." And I know he's not representative of all Egyptians but as Muslim Brotherhood founder?

Doesn't sound very friendly

Nope. I'm not a member of that site. I found that op-ed on a click from somewhere else. Just click here:

That's over in another thread entitled "Muslim Brotherhood", right? I'll comment there if I want to.

(**technical point - not the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood)

Got it and the comments made in the Salon article until the very end are sickening, even more sickening than your 'glad she'll be all right' statement I'll grant you that.

And ** you are right he is not the founder he is Qaradawi 'the father figure of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood,' the country's best-organized opposition group.

and Qaradawi hates Israel and would love to take up arms himself. In one of his sermons, he asked God "to kill the Jewish Zionists, every last one of them."

In January 2009, he said: "Throughout history, Allah has imposed upon the [Jews] people who would punish them for their corruption. The last punishment was carried out by [Adolf] Hitler."

I take it by your silence you have no opinion or at least would like to keep it to yourself. Guess it would be kind of hard to an embrace a revolution while the father figure of the participants is asking God "to kill the Jewish Zionists, every last one of them."

Yea this guy sounds real peaceful and he's 84 f'n years old so he would have beeen expected to have mellowed a bit since his younger days. Must have been one crazy m-f'r in his 20-30's.

Oh, no, I've always had an opinion on Qaradawi. There's reasons he's not allowed in our country.

It's just that talking to you about "Muslims! Look Out!" is a completely futile exercise in truth or logic.

Seems very odd to me while promoting the Muslim Brotherhood (In Egypt of course) you failed to mention him?

BTW when you're in a deep hole and keep digging you dig deeper.

But must admit I love seeing the show.

I never "promoted the Muslim Brotherhood" in Egypt. You're an idiot, Dell. Or a liar. Pick one. Because I'm done with your crap.

OH yes you did!!!!!!!!!Every F'n statement in bold is your direct words and I hope you keep digging!!!!!!!!

The people of Egypt have been very non-violent through out this. They are not a violent people, generally. The army, which is conscription, has been noticably, and admirably, non-violent, too.

It's Mubariks police force and supporters that have brought this latest violence overnight, and it's they who are attacking the journalists.

How ironic you blame Mubarak's force yet it was 200 protesters who ended up raping an AMERICAN jouranlist.

For those that are actually worried about what Mubarik is doing to international journalists, it's reported Brian Williams and Katie Couric left Egypt late today for safety fear. ABC producer threatened with beheading. Here's more on journalist crackdowns. Al Jazeera journalist missing.

Christian Amanpour is going to have a 1 hour special on Nightline ABC tonight, interview with Mubarik.

dig dig dig

The MB apparently has different incarnations depending upon what country it's in (it is pan-islamic)

Oh the suspense begins?

And the money shot?????

But I think Egypt is alot more resistant to terrorism and Islamic extremism. The Muslim and small Christian communities share religious tolerance very well there, and the MB there (only in Egypt) is intolerant of violence.

That coupled with Qaradawi is the father figure of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, the country's best-organized opposition group. The Brotherhood is sure to play a part in deciding what path Egypt will now take.

Qaradawi advocates establishing a "United Muslim Nations" as a contemporary form of the caliphate and the only alternative to the hegemony of the West. He hates Israel and would love to take up arms himself. In one of his sermons, he asked God "to kill the Jewish Zionists, every last one of them."

Obama in a landslide? Only if he's running for President of Egypt. But at least you two are in the same hole.

Here, Dell, I saved you the trouble of making something up: Here's every post where I ever mentioned the MB. Alas, no "promotion of the Muslim Brotherhood" on my part, is there?

GFY, Dell. Take your Muslim hate trolling back to your Muslim Brotherhood thread.

Quote:
Al Quaeda hates the Muslim Brotherhood because they call for non-violence. Just sayin'.

But no, from what most have said, the Muslim Brotherhood won't be taking over. They work on a community level, not a leadership level.

Here's some other views of the MB that try to anticipate their involvement in Egypts future, based upon their performances in the past.

Nobody, including Egyptians, wants to see a violent, terroristic regime end up in place - they just got rid of that. But many, especially in the United States, seem to be focusing on the fearing the MB exclusively.

LOL - You complete moron. Saying, "The people of Egypt" or saying the word "Egypt" is NOT talking about the Muslim Brotherhood. Let alone "promoting it". And just mentioning the Muslim Brotherhood isn't "promoting it", either. Nowhere have I supported or said the MB should be a force in Egypt.

LOL - you're on drugs or drunk. You're a fool. Go away.

Stop. Listen You said, " the MB there (only in Egypt) is intolerant of violence. "

The MB father figure IN EGYPT is saying "He hates Israel and would love to take up arms himself. In one of his sermons, he asked God "to kill the Jewish Zionists, every last one of them."

You are so ignorant you can't even acknowledge ignorance. Now I finally understand how you thought 'Carter got it.' GFY for the first this and last decade!

That's not "promoting the Muslim Brotherhood" by any stretch of the imagination. Nowhere have I supported or said the MB should be a force in Egypt.

I, like the US should be, am an ally of Israel. The farce of 'this was a peaceful revolution' when the outcome is outlawing protests and the MB now openly forming a political party while their father figure is a reincarnation of Hitler? That's not democracy in my mind but I know it is in yours and Obama's and that's scary IMO. How a Jew or for that matter Christian who has any sense of history could ever vote for this President again is beyond me.

No. You don't know what's "in my mind". You can't even read the words I write accurately. You just make crap up out of thin air and falsely attribute it to me. You're a liar, and a fool, and talking to you is like taking a mobius band carnival ride on batshiat crazy.
