![]() When these fillies go off they stay off....she ain't firing on all cylinders like, she was. I'd be nervous playing her into the fall.

![]() Probably wont see her again. Kudos to Maggie for putting some perspective on that performance. Oh and I respect Stabile but IMO he's embarrassing himself with this best since Ruffian talk. Royal Delta IMO was much better then Songbird.

![]() Have to agree that the Big A is totally out of sorts. Sweet guy has improved on air but geez man have a cocktail watch some of the other great fillies on you tube and move on. Extremely happy for Mr Porter but Round Pond would have beat Songbird today and that is not a glowing endorsement

![]() The final quarter in 26.2 gutted her after loping on an uncontested lead with slugs behind her. Great career but lets be honest she was as dressed up as any Champion ever to run. She ran 1 outstanding race in her career, that would measure up in part to her ridiculous rep and it was in defeat (so what)

![]() How fast is she supposed to go Freddy. She's open lengths in front. When anyone came to her she ran away. Beholder isn't exactly chopped liver. Unbridled Forever is awesome too. Do you think any less of Beholder because she got beat a nose by Songbird in 1:49 and change ? Of course not, she's a great racemare

I f Arrogate would have won the Travers in 2:03 by 8 nobody would have been wowed. There is a difference between horses that win because of circumstance an horses that dominant excellent rivals. Being objective isnt a slight on her amazing career and everyone would pray for a horse as good as Songbird but she just was born in the right year and faced a bunch of OK horses except on the day she had her own way and should have draw off IF she was all that |

![]() Drew off like beholder did in the pacific classic ? Funny how beholder could draw off against s bunch of older males , but not a 3 year old filly. They all had dream trips in that race except stellar wind who got left.

![]() Fascinating turn of events........right ?
Songbird is one of the two "it" horses in training,so when she didn't fire her usual shot today it was newsworthy. The question is obvious.........is she as good now as she was in her Championship seasons ? Beats me..... She looked OK via the head on,she ran straight and when Mike Smith moved her out a bit to see the other horse she wasn't going to let that one get past her. She had her usual rear wraps on,so that was fine. She just didn't have her game on today. It's hard to fire a giant race every single time,no horse really can. Probably the only one that really knows where she's at is Hollendorfer.........he doesn't miss a whole lot. I do wonder if he had her cranked up to the gills today..... Her next race will be more conclusive as to where she's at. She's still a champion and near impossible to beat,so I wouldn't sell her short. |

![]() I just watched the race. I don't really get the doom and gloom. She ran about as I expected. Her being off is likely a case of the rose lenses getting cracked.
