I think he truly does want to see her race. As to Bo-rail, I don't think he'll initially lose the mount because the PR would be too bad. And that is why I'd bet Mine that Bird scratches out of whatever race she goes in.

Just a terrible penalty to take there by Dupuis.
Sorry didn't mean to hijack to thread.
Back to why Gales thinks Borel will ride Mine that Bird.

it happens...it was almost as bad as malkin on the trip in game 2. pengooins have to be getting disheartened that they can't put the caps away at home. varlamov has been otherworldly.

i want to know why he's so sure borel won't get the mount if she's in the preakness. they fit together-why eff it up?

Has a Derby winning jock ever opted off the horse he won the Derby with to ride another in either the Belmont or the Preakness?

A couple comments:

1. yes, I am totally depressed
2. No, $10M was not the number
3. The Preakness is too close...and I have not heard the "new" owner say that is the target...only reason is if they think it is a free paycheck...which would tell you something about MTB.
4. yes, I am totally depressed
5. Those that know the tax implications of owning a horse less than 2 years know that my uncle will owe substantial taxes on the gain...the incentive was too great. Although, somewhere in my mind makes me wonder why they have been considering offers for some time...easy to say...I am not going to get millions right!!!! Money wins...and in this case, I think it was a wise decision even though I am not crazy about where she landed. Either way, I know she earned a fan for life with me.

The Preakness is on short rest ... but considering where the BC is this year - I wouldn't be too worried about the long term with the most likely winner of a Classic race if I had Jackson's money.

Ah, Root, remember the excitement and fun of Saturday! Once in a lifetime, and you got to feel that!

How can anybody afford to race horses for sport, rather than business, any more?

Sheik Mo may be the only one ....

No inside info here, but if she runs in the Preakness...we can assume MTB is a safe bet not to repeat....you think they have talked to Calvin? I am fairly certain they will run either Belmont or Preakness....for the 100th time...belmont is hers on several weeks rest and most of the boys worn out. I am a little afraid they are going to do both....I hope not....I pray not. Proves nothing now. I think she could of won triple crown. Her ability to relax was in question...the oaks proved she is a super freak. I got to say, I am interested to see how she reactes when, IF, she goes eyeball-to-eyeball in the lane.

It does suck but that's the nature of the business. The rich guys, for the most part, are colossal douchebags. What are ya gonna do? Just go with the flow.

It's funny how a change in ownership can have a direct effect on one's rooting interest. I loved RA after the Oaks, now I don't know how I feel.

Absolutely. it would spice up what's turning into a very boring Triple Crown.
