Better Than Swiss, though also having trouble at the start last out, at least had some pace to run into. BTS is my 'A', but I might make Intoxicatingbeauty a 'B'. Hopefully with the two snappy three-furlong breezes, Corny can keep her in striking distance today.
The horses running 1-4 at the 1st 2 calls of Intoxicatingbeauty's last race finished 2nd (Sweet Bama Breeze), 4th, next to last, and 8th. (rail set at 12 feet)

The horses running 1-4 the 1st 2 calls in Better Than Swiss' last race finished 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 6th/8th. (no rail)

Fractions aside, seems to me that Intoxicatingbeauty had more 'pace' to run into -- 'pace' in the sense of more moves.

This is where it gets tricky for those doing 'quantitative' versus 'intuitive' pace. The latter involving race dynamics (moves) and being a larger set than the former.

I never worry about what race my singles are in. If the last race contains your best single possibility, so be it.

I cringe when friends tell me they are singling early so they can be deep late.

Yup. The pain is the same in the first race or the last.

I disagree. The end result may be the same, but to me, it hurts way more to be blown out in the last leg. Not that I adjust my tickets to be deep late, I let the chips fall where they may, but it still hurts more to be taken out late.

Glad I decided not to play the pick 6. That rat 7 would've had me on tilt.

Yeah, me too. I thought that 3 was horribly overbet at 7/2.

Good Luck All...
I want to hurl, but the owner of the 350K no heart, running on the wrong lead stiff must feel worse than me...you have to love when your expensive 2YO purchase gets run down by horse that was going backwards as they came into the stretch...looks like i'm good for the place pick all...

Good Luck everyone else...

I would say there are many people still alive to this point. I'm surprised he wasn't included in more of the 2K tickets on this site. I have to say I am shocked that this horse went off at 17-1. I didn't bet him to win, almost because of that fact, but he is included in my pick 4, which is basically the last 4 legs of my already expired pick 6 ticket. Good luck to those out there that have meandered their way through to this point.
