Middle Eastern Muslims can generally be grouped together with thier abuse towards women.

I'm not sure any Muslim community accepts gays.

Again, I think it's a mistake to assume any community is of a single mindset. Majority...perhaps but then a nation's rules are decided by those in power, particularly in non-democratic systems.

It would be a mistake to trust those communities to act like civilized human beings.

The same can be said on many college campuses in this country after a big game...fires, riots, looting. I don't think you can judge all students of a particular school based on the actions of a lawless few. I don't defend lawlessness anywhere, but I don't think you can paint with such a broad brush.

they've painted themselves. Of course not everyone is a bad guy.. but the bad outweigh the good over in the Middle East.

Its crazy that people are so PC that they bury their heads in the sand and act like there isnt a Muslim problem in this world. it's crazy also that there are insensitive people who try to equate college parties and looting to gang rape by 200-300 Middle Eastern Muslim men in the middle of a town square.

And it's also crazy that some folks can't read a post without translating everything to suit their own mindset...nobody is equating one with the other...the post was in regards to an earlier post which said it's a mistake to expect "those communities" to act like civilized human beings. The campus riots are not an example of acting like "civilized human beings", I could also mention other examples such as the Harlem riots in the 60's and the Watts riots, ever witness the KKK in action? The point, which you deliberately distort is not to equate which events are worse but to show that all societies, even ours, has it's share of lawless idiots. In the Soviet Union before the fall of same, they took advantage of any misbehavior in this country to brand America as a lawless society. Folks who want to demonize Islam based on misbehavior of some are doing exactly the same thing. Calling me and others who express similar views crazy and insensitive might make you feel good but it doesn't change the facts...there are good folks and there are bad folks everywhere and we aren't so perfect and highly evolved that we can point the finger at other cultures, religions and peoples.

extremely predictable response. "Everyone does it!"

When a religion with a highly questionable Prophet has 1.5 billion followers... and 10% of that population supports an extreme verison, it's a huge fucl<ing problem. Especially when that extreme version makes you want to be a martyr, and kill anyone who doesnt believe as you do. I guess because I recognize the current Muslim problem in the world, I now must list every problem with society in the history of civilization. I'm not currently concerned about the Soviet Union, which doesnt even exist right now. We have 3 wars right now that have a common theme.. Muslims (oh thats right I forgot, America is actually the bad guy, right?)

and it doesnt make me feel good to call you insensitive. It makes me feel kind of sick that a large sector of this country believes the same **** that you and Riot spew when it comes to this topic. Riot actually believes that there are only a "couple hundred" evil Muslims in the world.

I can't speak for Riot, I know there are a hell of a lot of evil Muslims, I know we are fighting evil Muslims in three wars but again it says something when you call Islam a religion with "a highly questionable Prophet"....as opposed Jesus? John the Baptist? The thing with the world's major religions, they all have different beliefs and they all are sure their's is the only true path to the divine. It wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that folks feel the necessity to convert everyone to their "true path". Radical Islam is indeed a world-wide indignity to all peace loving folks, and cultural norms are no defense for violence against anyone. One more time, it isn't a matter of keeping score....my religion, culture, society etc has more or less violence than yours, but a matter of accepting that no religion, culture or society is perfect and that individuals not groups are either good or evil.

listen I'm not a Christian, Muslim, Buddist, Witch, Jewish or anything.

But I'm pretty sure Jesus's message was a lot better than Mohammed's.

Now Moses on the other hand is pretty darn similar to Mohammed. I dont think Moses was any good at all.

But its hard to go against Jesus's message of love. The Christian "God" of the old testament was not very nice or loving.

But like I said before.. I dont believe in anything organized. I dont believe in an invisible dude in the sky. I dont believe in heaven or hell or an afterlife, other than your own body's energy absorbed back into the earth through decomposition. But I do believe, in fairy tale land, that Jesus > Mohammad & Moses

Its hard not to keep score when there are millions of people in this world who want you DEAD. Christians dont want me to get married, but they dont want me dead.

Well, some do...ie: the "good" folks at Westboro. But I don't disagree with that point. There probably are millions of Muslims who would like to see us dead, but that's far from a majority of those who follow the path of Islam. America is hated in many places throughout the third world...it's easy to blame us for their problems (sometimes, to a degree they have a point) and that hatred is fanned by religious zealots for their own purpose...I don't deny any of that but the danger is that we will return that hatred and distrust to everyone, not just those who deserve it.

How ridiculous. No, I don't, and I've never said that (geeshus cripes, some of you can't even read words well). I said there are only a couple hundred Al Quaeda terrorists at this point. I said nothing at all about other terrorists, other organizations, other countries. And I wasn't talking about "Muslims" - I was talking about terrorists.

I'm just not stupid enough to believe "10% of all Muslims on the planet" are evil because I read that made-up-out-of-thin-air number on a silly right wing internet blog, and I'm gullible.

Its crazy that people are so PC that they bury their heads in the sand and act like there isnt a bigot problem in this world.

And anybody that thinks that this post is defending the Egyptians who attacked the reporter are beyond stupid.

So guess you don't know Islam has Jesus - yeah, that Jesus - as one of their prophets, up there with Mohammed.

Guess expecting this thread to be about Egyptian culture, how women are treated in Egypt was too much. It's just another opportunity to hate on Muslims. Just more intolerant, ignorant crap piled higher and deeper.

But in the words of Riot at least she'll be OK.

Besides wasn't it Jesus that taught if you go out and kill infidels there would be 40 virgins waiting for you in heaven? A little fact left out of Western bibles is when Jesus went to the temple and destroyed the vendors' booths he actually beheaded them and carried around the skulls.

A couple hundred Al Qaeda lol. If your guy Obama believes this he's at about $100 million in expense per member.

And I said alot more than that - my point was thank god she was not killed - which you are simply ignoring.

Lara Logan just related her experience on 60 Minutes tonight. And yes, she is healing, and she is okay, thank goodness. And she didn't blame "Muslims", or even mention that word, or religion, once. She did talk about Egyptian male treatment of women. Not in a religious sense, but in a cultural one.

So don't lectures us on this subject. You are completely ignorant.

And as far as how many Al Quaeda are left, yes, I"ll listen to the CIA and the Pentagon reports, rather than your imagination. You appear completely ignorant on that one, too.
