Jumped on really fast cause I was curious as to who, if anyone had Falling Sky who I love so much, who was my main Derby horse last year and who I didn't bet today as I didn't end up playing (but thanks, golfer, for sending me the pp's yesterday when I was excited about today's card. Stuff happens. ). (Oh and that wasn't an idiotic way of redboarding that I would have had him... I'm sure I'd have looked at his form and put my sentiment aside).

Anyway so that was my motivation and I'm reading this thread and get to this part...

... and it strikes me that this handicapper who I'm continually amazed by has such heart... I loved this post, Pointman.

Joke is on me for thinking this is as good as it's gonna get reading this thread.

Congrats to Hooves, to JMS, and to anyone else I've left out who had a killer day today.

Pointman?

I have secretly wondered why you haven't been and simulatneously wished that you would be in some of these great tournaments for the top of the top...

I am thrilled for you, in awe of you, rooting for you and unbelievably happy for you. When you have these days where you do so incredibly well it's like this weird reaffirmation thing... it's like yes you CAN be THIS good of a handicapper if you're good to begin with and pour your soul into it, live and breathe it.

Now I am not willing to do that, I wouldn't be able to, have not the brains nor discipline to try... it is not the essence of me... I enjoy being right and winning the teensy percentage of the time it happens and hope to improve but am not a delusional type.

I am overly sentimental and overly willing to share feelings in the most inappropriate places (ummm like now! ) and, considering I only know you in the slightest way, people might think I am insane for being so completely joyful for you but the thing is that I am.

Truly.

Congratulations and in a very real way and not as just a silly word on a horsie board.

I hope you slaughter them in Vegas.

Always nice when people get what they deserve in this life and you, my friend, are beyond deserving of this great chance.

You CAN win this thing. I hope you do.

Thanks to everyone! I know there will be a bunch of DTer's to join me in Vegas!

MM, thanks for the very kind words! I love Game On Dude, but from a handicapping perspective, it made sense to take a shot against him.

I hope I can do well in Vegas, but I am just happy to have the opportunity!

Congrats to Point! What a great day. It really shows that this game can beat you down for days on end and then it can reward you ten-fold in the span of 6 hours. Have to love it!!!

Best of luck in Vegas and continued success until then.
