It's been a long time since I've been this excited to watch a race.
This from Bloodhorse, after Beholder went a half in :47 in her final serious work before the race: When Mandella met Beholder and Painter back at the barn following the exercise, he asked his rider how she went. Painter, who has worked for the Mandella barn since 1998, just shook her head from side to side in amazement. "Oh, boy. Oh, man," was her comment.

She better find her race from last year or she will be beat like a rented mule. She has run exactly 1 race that makes her competitive with these types. I hope she comes back to form but I have not been overly impressed with her in '16. I truly appreciate her connections give her and the sport every chance.. VERY sporting!!!
