Modern day racing. Logical stakes schedule that positions a solid prep (Sexton Mile) 3 weeks out from the supposed marquee event (actually the purse is the same as the "prep") and you get small fields for both and only a pair of mid-range contenders appear in both.
Baffert and Asmussen are also back for more, just with different horses.
