He's really good.

I'm surprised you're not excited about Scalding. Classic Shug progression.

What was crazy about that Ben Ali was that Dynamic One ran in the Black and Cherry and is trained by TAP and Shug beats him. Scalding looks fine he will have to keep going forward
d to win against G1 types, that said he hasn't done anything to believe he cant

I think he is supposed to wear the Phipps silks every third race.

He also hasn't shown that he can.

That wasn't much of a field... Nothing for him at Belmont until the Suburban unless he goes in Brooklyn I wonder what his next race will be?

Did you see how thick that hoss is ? Has muscles in places most hosses don’t even have places. 80 seems low

He could run in the Pim Special. He's also been in training for a while so Shug could wait for a race like the Suburban.

I am not well versed in equine muscularity, nor am I a fan of "the eye test," and the horse could have run faster. This horse is good. He couldn't have run faster but could have continued to run as fast longer if he had to. The BSF reflects the overall time of the race and I have little doubt about its accuracy. For me, it wouldn't mean that much in projecting his ability

Isn’t you saying he could have run faster for longer an eye test ?

Not really. It's how fast he was able to go from running to exploding(turn of foot?) and if you could measure that scientifically with instruments, you would be able to define just how much faster he was able to achieve his best speed vs. the other horses. He raced against a group that included some nicely bred and meant types. The waters will get deeper with faster, more talented horses than the types he faced. All that said, it is a matter of physical science vs. a subjective "eye test."
